    Samsung Galaxy Note9 103 107 94
    HTC U12+ 103 106 95
    Samsung Galaxy S9+ 99 104 91

    Done, fixed it.
I took some photos with the P20 Pro up against my old One M9.
P20 Pro's were extremelly grainy, noisy and overall soft... In perfect light conditions.
    Like, straight up daylight.

It's a mistery how it got higher scores than everything else.
Also, video score is higher than the others?
4K without OIS. No 4K at 60FPS. And no HDR video.
    For real? Higher scores.

Lightning McQueen, 12 Sep 2018Ok. Then how about the upcoming Nokia 9 with Penta lens cam... moreI don't know, we'll see how they score it.
I'm no expert but I do trust my eyes evaluating the sample image comparisons slightly more than whatever is written.

              Do I trust DXO Mark?
              Maybe 72%, compared to GSMA's 92%.
Rating the the P20 Pro's Video so high is misleading & I find the ommission of Sony's XZ's on DXO's list concerning.

The S6 was certainly one of the best mobile camera phone @ the time, and I've noticed DXO removed it from their list, yet the S5 is still on it, go figure??

So DXO is worth a look, but definitely don't make any decision based solely on it.

I always cross reference any trusted source with another trusted source.

Once you've established what's what & what matters to you then it's easier to make a decision.

Everything has it's pro's & cons, camera A might excel in 1 area more than camera B, but B excels in another area more than camera A.
It's what matters to you that counts.

Nick Tagataka, 11 Sep 2018You can go check Android Headline's camera review on Note 9... moreI agree with your conclusion from this video, but it frankly looks ridiculous for Samsung, because it looks much worse than S9+'s performance, also foliage strangely smears unlike past performance. I'd almost say they got the samples from the two models mixed up but don't have definite proof for that. I'll need to look into other comparisons. Anandtech's would be most trustworthy though they're a small site and not on the productive side.

then you would've noticed DXO Mark compared the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to the:

                        Huawei P20 Pro @  109 114 98
                        Samsung Galaxy Note9 @  103 107 94

I just said I'm surprised they could achieve this level of improvement through software. which, may I add, happened in a short time and without an dependence on google's huge database and software.

Because one all the mistakes your talking about include all not just the 3 companies I have listed.
Your all effected by the media which are sponsored by Apple, Samsung and Huawei.
Both Apple and Huawei doesn't have a reason to remove the 3.5mm jack but your focusing on the the 3 companies I have listed.
When iPhone 8+ was give a battery less than 3000mAh and a 5.5 inch with no 3.5mm jack with haptic feedback at 202 grams and your focusing on the the 3 companies that I have listed and saying those 3 companies doesn't listen to the people.
You think Samsung won't remove the jack next year??? Next is their anniversary of the S series and will make a complete new design so yes they will remove it since also Qualcomm discontinued the jack too in their processors.
When the 3 companies do new things the media doesn't talk about or give an attention but when the others copy yeah that's an innovation and they listen to the people and when the 3 companies I have listed do copy you guys say, yeah they don't innovate anymore and they are late and so on so please stop being biased and see the truth.
The iPhone lost the fingerprint for what????? and everyone buys it blindly.
If an Android OEM would do that, you would have seen a lot of rage from both the media and the people but Apple gets a pass with it. Wow.
Your famous big companies have flaws and big ones but the media doesn't focus on them and are paid.
Huawei cheats benchmarks. Apple has bigger flaws and Samsung's camera smartphone are bad this year and no one is saying the truth so yeah say what you want to say and stay blind

I wonder why everytime DXOmark gives a smartphone a good score, sony fans come out and says DXOmark is trash, samsung buys it, apple buys it, huawei buys it, etc. May be they are jelous because sony phones never have a good camera. They can't even compete with chinese brands like xiaomi, oppo or vivo, etc. in camera department let alone apple and samsung. Sony is yet to put a camera as good as galaxy note 4 or iphone 6s on their flagships including xz2. I have xz2 and its camera is mediocre at best.

Nekomimi, 11 Sep 2018My obsession with camera could be the reason why im saying ... moreYour sorry attempt to make this about intelligence won't work on me, mate. Rather dumb, if you'd ask me. The facts stand. For instance, the "flagship" phone Sony is launching in October is just about on par with an over six-month-old Galaxy S9, with several features missing if you'd do a direct comparison. Sony still seems to think they'll be able to launch it at a higher price than the Galaxy S9 is currently available at. This is why Sony is shrinking. Sony has been losing money on mobile for years, I think they had a couple of minor profit years a long time ago when they were still living on the Ericsson legacy. And I'm also very sure they're polishing the expense numbers on mobile to the extreme to make it look less bad than it is. All three of these companies keeps repeating their mistakes, year after year, expecting the tides to turn for them. Insanity, I think Einstein would have called that? I am not saying they're making terrible phones, like some of the cheap knock-off phones from China, but they're constantly releasing relatively uninteresting devices and still expecting consumers to say, "Apple is boring so I'm okay with this!". With that business plan, they will keep shrinking on mobile.
