Just another iphone-like device, Lg the worst manufacturer when it comes to after-sale-services, very slow update (if any).

Compared the V30 to an S8 (double the pixel size, slightly lower aperture), shot both pics in manual mode to ensure the same ISO and shutter are used and the lighting conditions were nearly identical.

V30 was beautiful. I don't understand why LG is going to change design of V series. 6" was perfect. Not too big, not too small. It had small bazels. They didn't disturb in anything. The only two problems with V30 was the weak camera and 4gb ram. They could just make a new camera with at least 1,4 or 1,55 micrometer pixels and add nex 4 gb ram and new snapdragon and the device would be the best flagship ever. But they decided to fuck it up :)

troy5890, 11 Sep 2018Sorry, but having that option to hide it becomes useless in... moreA better option? I have not seen one yet. Those things that pop up ok, but I'd prefer the notch. To me, sounds like an S9 would be OK for you.

And about notches... to have less of a bezel, screen is bigger, but phone needs some space for front camera and other sensors.
The place on the screen where is a notch is usually empty anyways. You see few things on the left (signal, WiFi...) and battery on the right.
So, to use that space which is usually empty anyways is actually genius.
And since now screens aren't in 16:9, and videos still are... you probably won't want to fill it in all the way anyways (on my S8 it would cut out top and bottom of the video)

Why does LG keep launching so many flagship phones in such close period of time?

                    stop producing Notchphones.

If i'm paying a large sum of money for a flagship, it has to have it all, while still being appealing at the same time. The notch makes the LGV40 something that isn't in consideration.

Seriously, the V30 is a great device to hold, and my favourite looking device of last year. It has a poor screen though, and I have seen, in person, plenty of burn in. Same with Pixel 2xl, and actually the regular. Seen burn in on them all. Also, the cameras were a little behind last year. They should buy HTC cameras and software, and add that to the V40. Between the U12plus and the V40, there is everything ticked.
