Xiaomi puts up the XR, XS and XS Max for sale, and those aren't just phones

In a jab at Apple, Xiaomi is offering three bundles at the prices of the latest iPhones, and each consists of a phone, laptop, and accessories.

It was also a small phone, only 5" display, but a huge bottom bezel, crazy huge compared to the rest of the phone, the massive bezel real estate wasn't used used for navigation keys either, so essenitallt the bottom third of the phone was mostly dead space.

It is btw Sharp's display tech inside the Mi Mix, so copying is the wrong word. Popularizing the bezelless design based on Sharp's tech is more accurate, and that is what the Mi Mix did, and started a trend. Bezelless and bigger screens for the masses, ending the 16:9 screen ratio as well.

The Sharp could possibly have done the same, but Sharp designed and marketed it the wrong way for that - as a result it had a strange looking design, with a way too big bottom bezel even for 2014 and weak international sales. Even something as simple as bumping up the screen to 5.5" and moved the navigation keys away from the screen and onto that huge bottom bezel, thick enough for two rows of navigation keys would have made it a more attractive device.

Sadly sharp ended their bezelless Crystal series in 2015 and implement notch in Aquos S2 in 2016, yuck. Thankfully the Mi Mix came in 2016 and changed the game. Thanks to it we now have more and more bezelless devices. This trend started with Sharp technology, in a Xiaomi device.

            Remember the days when this was what Samsung was known for? Until they developed schizophrenia and thought they're Apple.

            I love both iPhone and Android exactly for their differences. Frankly, iPhone is the best as a daily driver, due to their tight eco-system, and its overall usability, its just that bit better. However, I love the diversity of Android which allows me to have phones like Razer, such a hardware beauty.

            Anyone who actually takes sides and refuses to even look at the other, are ultimately losers, supporting sides in a war that no one in the actual companies care about.

                    When you think a deal is too good to be true, it probably is. It is owned by a government which is trying all the ways to manipulate people in the most dangerous ways. Think before you act. Although privacy is almost nothing under this age, it matters when a certain incident happen. Just need one incident, all the dreams and fascination evaporated. Just make the wise and responsible choice.

                          damn I have to admit, these are one helluva deals lol. Good job Xiaomi!

                            And I hear dem Americans moaning "cheap chinese ware" - but then again: Iphone is cheap chinese ware aswell, same company, same materials, even most hardware is the same since apple only keep the chip and software to itself...so keep moaning, but I had 4 Xiaomi phones so far and they were not great, but also not worse than ANY other flagship I used before . There is no flawless phone out there, and as much as you want the iphone to be flawless, it never was - but is it overpriced, yessir it always was. If you are concerned about privacy - again: I hate giving my data to google, microsoft or apple aswell as I hate to give it to oppo, xiaomi or yota, why? Cause USA is just as data-aggressive as russia and china - therefore it doesnt matter to any EU citizen who steals their data...and yes, I may be I minority, but I don't trust any Government right now, not even my own ;)

                              Apple did not start that, and Moto did it it their first Z-model to get it as slim as they did.

                              Moto was also first with a fingerprint reader in the modern day smartphone, in their Atrix, which also brought along desktop mode including multiple docking solutions and so on. Others came before them again with regards to fingerprint scanner, HTC P6500, Toshiba G500 + G900 and Pantech GI100 to name a few, going all the way back to 2004, but the ones who came before were not exactly widespread nor consumer based.

                              Motorola, like manye others, had to postpone the fingerprint sensors on later models due to the fact that after seings Moto's finger print sensor, Apple purchased the whole company (AuthenTec). Not exactly innovation is it?

                              Too bad google killed of a large part og of Moto's innovation and Lenovo seems to keep making the wrong choices as well. Motorola should never adopt such an ugly notch. It's just an awful design choice, and that has never typically been a description of a Moto deive. If they had to have a notch, it should be teardrop based, like Oppo R17.

                              BTW, Samsung's face unlock came before FaceID. It may not be identical tech behind it, but from a user perspective, it does the same.

                              Sea of notches was started by Essential phone, who up until the Oppo R17 had the least awful one as well. Apple just followed along and made the biggest and ugliest of them all. Essential phone and the desire for bezelless devices was started by Xiaomi Mi Mix.

                              Vivo NEX was close to perfecting it, but not quite. So probably the Mi Mix 3 will be the one that gets it perfectly, or at least so I hope.

                                  MIUI updates does in fact provide android updates, in several ways. For the first period they include android OS updates as well as patch level updates, then after a certain time they bring android patch level updates. So even if the phone cannot get newst android version number (often due to driver limitations), it can still get the newest patch level through MIUI updates, as well as new features in MIUI. Hence it is both secure and gets new features.

                                  This is a very good deal for users of Xiaomi smartphones.

                                        After that Xiaomi 1st made "bezzless" smartphone called Xiaomi Mi Mix, and after Xiaomi Mi Mix, Apple announced Iphone X.
                                        So you are wrong that everyone copy Apple!
