I'm starting to think that the image leaked, which were supposedly the Nokia 9 and Nokia 7.1 were actually Nokia 9 and Nokia 8. If you think about it,
Firstly, the other device looked far too premium to be a mid-ranger.
Secondly, the 8 isn't just going to vanish; just like all the other mid-range devices, the 8 also needs an upgrade and it seems only logical for Nokia/HMD to launch/announce the new Nokia 8 along side the Nokia 9. ..or maybe even as Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Plus.
...but everyone seems to be forgetting that Nokia 8 needs a big update. The Sirocco was midlife minor upgrade that aside from the design, only brought minimal upgrades.

Why would they reduce screen size just to make the chin bigger on a new version of the Nokia 7? Hope this is fake. But with 5.1 and 6.1 having a notch, it gives this some validity

Great chip set. Nice look. Just hope it's not huge as the prior 7 was pushing it. Be nice if manufacturers could move away from smudge ridden, greasy looking glass backs with a Matt alternative.
