Ugly looking UI.

Anonymous , 22 Sep 2018Sammy rolled out Pie 9.0 within a month of google's release..whe... morelets see when they actually release it tho.good for em if they did early
p.s is well known sammy among other brands are slow when it comes to updates i chose something else n is my choice n urs is somethin else.. respect..freedom of choice

Well, overall the UI looks ugly...
I hope they make some serious changes before they release it.
Plus, I kinda liked the new gesture control in pie, but of course i knew that Samsung will never include this in their version of Android.

Shadocx, 22 Sep 2018They are not the same: fingerprint reader location, new SoC Exyn... moreNo I meant that they are really similar:
Design is the same except for the FPS
Screen is the same (under pro gear it's actually a better one but not something Rando Consumer is going to spot with the two side by side.
Processor is similar (Exynos 9810 has a bigger leap over the E8895. SD845 not that much over SD835, not something noticeable day-by-day)
Camera is brand new, but it's not the most obvious change.
Stereo speakers aren't obvious either, as it's the regular speaker with the earpiece, both of which are on the S8.

The S9 is a refined S8, which corrected it's flaws, like the S7 fixed everything wrong on the S6. There was much more stuff that was wrong on the S6, which is why the S7 was a more distinctive device. The S8 was very good Can't fix what isn't broken.

ProJames, 21 Sep 2018No. The fact is that looking at the S8 and the S9 side by side, ... moreThey are not the same: fingerprint reader location, new SoC Exynos 9810-SDM845, variable aperture camera, stereo speakers.
You meant they look the same on the front, I guess.

Duel, 21 Sep 2018"The problem with S9 slow sales is because of it's minor upgrade... moreThis is hilarious. Apple charges 1500$ for 1200p and 1000$ for 720p 300ppi lcd display and that's ok against qhd+ 500ppi s amoled curved infinity display for 700$ and that's steep?!
What other OEM offers such specs? Lol..the material and Q of a device changes drastically wen price raise from mid rangers to flagships.
Else bmw and a tuktuk would have cost the same.

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2018Bezel lovers are the worst. Notch can be hidden. That ugly be... moreWhen you hide the notch you create a bezel lol...

taz-chaz, 21 Sep 2018i agree ..reason i left sammy for pure android...really slow updatesSammy rolled out Pie 9.0 within a month of google's release..when so many other brands are yet to.
If that's slow, then you better write ur own codes before google's release!

Duel, 21 Sep 2018"The problem with S9 slow sales is because of it's minor upgrade... moreNo. The fact is that looking at the S8 and the S9 side by side, there is little to no difference. Why choose the more expensive one over the less expensive one if it's the same? S8 sales are still solid according to market share info available (like Appbrain)

Rave, 21 Sep 2018I thought stock Android 9 was beautiful but this is even more be... morei agree ..reason i left sammy for pure android...really slow updates

ProJames, 21 Sep 2018What's the point of getting a notched phone of you hide it? Don'... moreExactly, i own s9 and they're minimal. Very.

I'm looking forward to this update, hopefully that battery optimization and this dark theme really improves it further. I'm sure it will but at least extra 10-15% would be nice. Quickly 1-2hrs extra OST.

Atm usually hover around 6-7hrs OST to complete discharge. Owning it for good 2months..

Cure, 21 Sep 2018Honestly, this looks awful, I really don't like the rounded corn... moreDon't worry, Samsung may change the UI with a familiar but keeping close to Pie UI to win Samsung users over. It is the 1st build anyway.

Honestly, this looks awful, I really don't like the rounded corners and the cards everywhere. I also don't like how the navigation bar icons changed , I like the style the S9 uses.

One of the only things that is actually good about this is the Night Theme. Which should have been a stock option years ago.

Samsung Galaxy, 21 Sep 2018The problem with S9 slow sales is because of it's minor upgrade ... more"The problem with S9 slow sales is because of it's minor upgrade and everyone is skipping either for the Note 9 and S10. Using notch on the S9? The sales will definitely be worse than now."

No that's not the reason, reason is people can get about same experience half a cheaper so who would pay S9 price. Markets are full of cheap good android phones which are good enough for most. Before you had to buy phone like galaxy if you wanted good android experience. S10 sales won't be good either, when that phone finally comes out others already have great phones lot cheaper price.

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2018Bezel lovers are the worst. Notch can be hidden. That ugly be... moreWhat's the point of getting a notched phone of you hide it? Don't tell me there is more useful screen space vecause there isn'tm And you cannot really hide it, just display black bars around it, which again raises the question of what's the point. If you call the S9 a phone with hige bezels then you don't know what you are talking about.

Galaxy Note 9, 21 Sep 2018I agree, actually, many of the features of the TouchWiz became m... moreI also agree

  • Alboooz

I really don't like this new OS beyond MM6, it's just misplaced things around screens and useless round corners piffff!

  • Rave

I thought stock Android 9 was beautiful but this is even more beautiful. Although I am a stock Android guy but Samsung experience is getting very enticing if only they would increase the update speed

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2018As a xda members I would say Samsung has the best and the riches... moreI agree, actually, many of the features of the TouchWiz became mainstream AOSP then to other mobiles. I do not even need Android OS upgrade with my Note 8 and S9+ so long they keep pushing the security updates and minor enhancements....

As a xda members I would say Samsung has the best and the richest UI in this industry.. Although just love iOS's simplicity.. But There are no competition of Touchwiz. Oxygen OS comes second..
