Instagram adds GIF support to its direct message platform

20 September 2018
This makes the direct message platform on IG more sophisticated and might encourage some to use it more.

"Sophisticated" and "GIF" in the same sentence makes no sense. There is nothing sophisticated about GIF, or about using it today in 2018, in particular not like the sheep on Imgur and Reddit who convert high-resolution video to low-resolution, 256 color GIF animations. Using GIF is a bit like brain damage.

Just got the OTA update for GIF support
    Accra, Ghana

Nice, now I have a choice if I want to send GIF-s.

But I doubt I'll ever send one anyways. Not to get me wrong, I know there are people out there who send GIF-s on any app where it's possible.
