I wish Samsung uses the S10 Mini/Lite as a test bed to go back to what made them great earlier and see if that formula has takers.
SD 855 or the Exynos equivalent
5.4-5.6 inch flat edge, flat corner, 18/19:9 narrow screen
Large removable battery
Plastic/polycarbonate/fibre/fabric weave back
Front or side fingerprint scanner
Single camera
64gb with msd card
4gb ram
Price it to worry the One Plus if not the Poco
The other two S10s can go for all the premium pentacamera, slippery glass, 7mm thin bling features to keep hipsters and reviewers happy and charge Apple prices.
Samsung has always done their own thing and even now resist notches and removing the headphone jack. When I got the Galaxy Ace in 2011, it was a Gingerbread version of the iPhone from that era. Similar specs, fraction of the price. While the rest of the phone physically is frayed, that fabric/fiber weave back still looks new.
If this variant does well, it proves people want no nonsense, powerful, durable devices, at good value, but the market never offered any. If it doesn't, then well, we all deserve the gimmicky, delicate, gigantic devices on offer. And the other two S10 Edge/Plus/Mega variants can pick up the slack.

Zendroid, 22 Sep 2018And before the edged screen? Did you even try Samsung when ... morePrior to S8 I had Note 4 and S5. As welI as Note FE.
I DIDN'T Experience S6 as it lacked MicroSD, So I chose to have the LG G Flex 2 at the time. And S7 didn't really attract me either. By the time of S7 I had Huawei P9.
Hut I did closely follow samsung's UI changes and the experience.

Kiyasuriin, 21 Sep 2018Yep. Think the same In my head S10R (R from XR) will use ... moreSmartphone camera has tiny sensor so the the equivalent aperture of f/1.5 is f/9 which is almost infinite DoF so variable aperture is gimmick only. Instead of it, ND filter is much usable for video.

In my head S10R (R from XR) will use ... moreThe more probable pricing is $699, $799, and $899. With several add-ons to offer more bang for the buck.
If they price it too highly, it'd cause a sticker shock. There are plenty of options on Android, so they can't have a $1,199 starting price for the S10+ or people will easily go for a more affordable, slightly less inferior flagship. Samsung often gets their pricing right, so I'm not too concerned about that.
If the S10+ gets an ultrasonic in-display scanner and triple cam, I'd gladly make the switch from the Note line to the S line.
Samsung needs to wow with the S10 else it'd mean having to hand over their lead to Huawei and in the not too distant future, Xiaomi.

Anonymous, 22 Sep 2018i still can't figure out why samsung can't add a dedicated ... moreA dedicated SD card slot PLUS Dual sim requires having a larger carriage unit. And it can be achieved in two ways: 3 slots raw, or 3 slots square.
(Two slots for sim, on side SD card reader) and IT REQUIRES SPACE! Space that requires sacrificing either battery life, re-engineered PCB units or other stuff.

Maybe 799$ is better. I'm sure it will be something like 900$ or even further cause they see that Apple can surpass the 2000$...:'(

In my head S10R (R from XR) will use S855/E9820 with 4GB of ram LPDDR4X@1866Mhz, min storage is 64 all the way to the 256 like usual, Single cam of 12 MP but tri aperture way (1.5/1.9/2.4), 3100 mAh battery and ofcourse the UDFPS for 699$
The middle tier S10 will be the same chipset wise but with 6 GB of RAM with the newer LPDDR5, Dual cam 12+12 with the main having same triple aperture option, and Telephoto F/2.4, same 3,100 mAh battery as S10R and other rumored goodies for 760$ or so.
And the monstrous S10+ with 6.44inch, samechipsets but 8 GB of RAM LPDDR5, AND all rumored goodies for 850$
Ofcourse, take it with a grain of salt as it's my crazy imagination. XDDDDD //sHOT
All models keep headphone jack, No notch and have SD card.

Personally, i hope the third S10 is not a lite variant but rather a full-fledged flagship without the curved screen. They could do what they did in 2015 (S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge +).

Zendroid, 21 Sep 2018And the flat screen version will be the lite/mini/compact/f... moreActually it could be good. The iPhone XR would've been the best iPhone this year if it had a decent display & a reasonable price. If Samsung could make a S10 "XR" with at least a 1080p AMOLED display with the same specs as the "premium" models (except without dual-camera), & with a budget-friendly price (not Apple's budget-friendly, rather consumer's budget friendly), then i believe they'll have a best-seller on their hands...
