21 September 2018
uBreakiFix will be providing the free repairs on behalf of Google.

I don't mean to be mean but if Google wanted people to stay connected, they'd either give pixels, or provide free replacements for damaged pixels. Not free repairs, as repairs take time. Time you're left without ANY kind of connection (unless you're given a replacement device, which just never happens in my country, but we don't have hurricanes either so I wouldn't know).

Anyways, it's nice to see Google is doing at least something. Something's better than nothing.

Anonymous, 22 Sep 2018Actually every camera is boring right now.P20 Pro and XZ2 Premium are the non-boring cameras on smartphones today.
You know that cameras are boring if the image quality is just nearly identical to what we'd get from 1 or even 2-year old smartphones.

More like dual and triple camera are mostly gimmicks, wide angle is the only useful one. The pro 20 pro excels in low light, aside from that its pictures are not up to iphone, samsung and Pixel quality unless you use pro mode and then lightroom, then you might aswell use a dslr. point and shoot is the whole purpose of a camera phone

If the single primary camera sensor remains at 1/2.3" size, then it obviously won't be anything extraordinary. The Note 9's boring camera is already an example, and that one has a secondary telephoto camera and 960fps super slow motion at least.

And what about similar or worse disasters elsewhere in the world? Are pixel owners in those affected areas of lesser significance or does Google assumer them to be significantly richer that they do not need free service?

Such pixelated principles do not augur well for Google.
