Gargi, 23 Sep 2018Not moral??? They tell you they take your data and can use ... moreThey use your data for all sorts of things to get more cash. I'll never forget their algorithm that, if it determines the user is suicidal, will push ads that take advantage of the user's situation. How's that for morality. Blind fanboy

Seems like Cortana and Alexa will be the first marriage among the artificial intelligence community.

One question: Why would I want to do that?

Remember how Microsoft love to throw users? Skype was pre-installed on many smart tvs an then stopped to work. Don't wait they will do other way this time. Remember - Microsoft means - don't use!

My parents use Skype over FB Messenger.
              Well that's good to here.

AnonD-558092, 23 Sep 2018I do. I can't stand Facebook at all because they are immora... moreI mean, it's either Face Time, Discord, or Google Duo with me

                  Oooo. Thats a good feature!

paco2x, 23 Sep 2018I remember those VOIP phones preloaded with Skype. I use it... moreThey have continued to work on Skype a lot. Recently the app gained private conversations, which crypts conversations so they cannot be fetched with MiM attacks and much more.

Walter C. Dornez, 22 Sep 2018Does anybody still use Skype here?I do. I can't stand Facebook at all because they are immoral. Microsoft is less immoral about privacy. They are immoral about software because who else are you going to get your PC OS and your Office suite from? Linux and Libre Office? Lol.

I remember those VOIP phones preloaded with Skype. I use it couple of times and it was ok by that time, sometimes the calls just dropped, but the smartphone app was just plain bad. Then it came Whatsapp and like everything MS does... they just let Skype to rot and die like most of their consumer products.

About those Amazon speakers... in the end only Alexa will stay in that partnership, probably Cortana will fade away and get axed.

Does anybody still use Skype here?
