unknown , 06 Oct 2018dual edges is way better than a flat display in any terms ... moreYou must be truly disabled mentally? Not only have I used dual edges phone in a mandatory way, but dual edges disadvantages have been clearly documented on the web. Distorted images, palm rejection problems, more slippery to hold, light reflection on those edges, etc. The only positive thing out of dual edges are the impression of bezeless sides. You should reconsider your arguments before blindly supporting Samsung.

I can't believe no one noticed that the amoled screen already developed BLACK SPOTS. Those black spots are permanent damage from pressure such as when folding. This is doable but not durable. Your screen can fail very fast and nobody tells you that these screens cost more then buying a new phone. I really don't like all this new tech. Its getting uglier and greedier.

They mentioned back in 2014 that the only thing stopping them from making such phones and tablets is durability, so here's hoping they've found a solution to that problem.

The more I see those prototypes and concepts, the more likely my opinion on it is a hard pass. Looks more useless than dual edges.

Apparently the meaning and purpose of 'prototype' products is lost on many of you. Samsung was demoing prototype foldable screens years ago, but only now has advanced the technology to the point they're readying it for (probably limited) commercial release.

This limited-fold prototype could be a stepping stone towards a future smartwatch/phone design that some have been anticipating.

Is this like their projector prototype phone that they never released

                    Nice and beautiful
I think in 2019 they will release there foldable OLEDs because they in talked about and showed smartphone bracelet and tablet that can fold into smartphone and vice versa in 2015 or in 2016 when they were showing the first Moto Z who was the first phone to come with no headphone jack

Nobody mentioned that screen is damaged. It probably couldn't take too many folds/unfolds.

So, it just bends in the middle and on a 90 degree scale?
And why would i want a bendable phone? i want something sturdy, somethiong when i drop from 2Meters high, nothing happens to the screen nor body.
I want something that doesn't break but what do companies do?
                        Bendable phones....
If phones were thin enough to bend it on our wrists, that could be usefull. But smartphones are still bulky and not innovative.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2018Yeah, 10 years from now. After saying they invented bend... more*after properly implementing the technology and making it actually useful for the user. Of course, with the best user experience in mind, just like Apple always does.

A wheel is nice but doesn't bring any real advantage to the user. Whereas a car that uses wheels is an entirely different approach and actually useful and desirable to anyone.

Go APPLE, go!! Turn this currently interesting (but with no real use) technology into something beautiful and useful!

Foldable televisions, like mattresses you can just stick on the wall, 4K and all.

                              That'd be better.

No worries, Apple will take this concept and turn it into a great, fully featured and fully working idea. Can't wait!

One will invent the wheel, while another will invent the car based on that.

If they make a foldable thin phone and market it under the Moto RAZR brand, sales would go through the roof. In fact, the nostalgia alone would make it a huge success.

But, I am really interested in seeing the foldable Samsung Galaxy phone. It has been in development for so long (more than half a decade) and they aren't rushing it, in order to make a really good product. That's where the real deal probably will be.
