LG has always had an issue with updating their phones. I'm using an LG G5 and still stuck at 7.0 and due for an upgrade...... This phone would really determine if LG is worth sticking with or changing OEM

V20 had the latest Nougat from day one. I wished the V40 had Pie from day one too.

I was a big LG supporter my phones were LG G2, G3,G5, and I am down for an upgrade. I am never gonna buy an LG phone ever again. The GPS is always messing up, It burns through my battery, it takes really bad concert vids, has a bad selfie cam, and the worst is that they promised oreo for the G5 over a year ago but I still have to see it it get upgraded OTA so I am stuck with nougat..

for one, I'll not be getting pie. pie will be without a lot of android's legacy API causing a LOT of apps to not work properly, primarily automate, and that's a huge dealbreaker for me.

You can say what you want about Huawei and their speed to update further down the line but at least they they create flagships with the latest OS system. Shame on Samsung (NOTE 9) and LG....

There is no proper support (after 1.5 years from official sakes stop you will not be able to fix your phone. They don't provide parts to service centers). There is no updates. If you have any bugs in UI - they will stay there forever. Some updates are just for Korea. They put cheapest camera sensors into "flagships" - sensirs for selfies as primary cameras? No, seriously? I could tell a lot about this vendor, but that's obviously without words - LG now is worse android vendor and in fact B- grade.

Now a days I am confused whether I am buying Mobile Phone or camera :). None of the mobile companies are in process of enhancing the network connectivity/ call quality etc in their models. Can someone atleast point to me one single mobile phone which strictly serious on the call quality/network connectivity. I do not find any?

Crackling Doom, 28 Sep 2018Well said.Do you know what you taking about take a look @ kernel version on any manufacturer it is @ least 3y old, Google can't handle a simple thing as this

Better have android 8.1 and be very optimised than android 9 but with a lot of bugs. android 9 will come for sure , we just need to wait for them to optimise it for best performance. Look at samsung, they're phones ship with latest android but always start lagging after some time. lg is very optimised, my lg g2 still runs almost like new which is impressive for its age. and my brother still uses it as his daily driver.

Android 9 was already out, why still use version 8.1? This will take ages again before being updated to 9.0
