Android 9.0 Pie has been out for a while now and we expect it to power up all the flagships to come, including the V40 ThinQ.

But wouldn't it launch with project treble? So updates should be a little quicker

Considering early tests with Android Pie actually reduced the battery life as well as some functionality issues, I actually don't mind this. I don't always need the latest update from Android since Launchers tend to give me the better experience anyway.

I wouldn't worry about it. By the time they launch the phone (not announce), the update should be rolled out by the time people first unbox the phone.

Dammit LG, you had time. You should have put it.

lg made promises to improve update. if they launch v40 with 8.1 that immediately loses all credibilty.

Outdated before launch and will not get much support afterwards. Too bad Lg does not seem to get any better at supporting devices after launch of the next flagship. Other android manufacturers are faster with updates and Lg needs to get on their level to be desirable in highly competitive smartphone market worldwide.

I hope Lg would reduce making different phone models to a point that they can support them with as high level of care that Apple does with their old models. It is not an excuse to have bad support just because you went with Android and not with your own os like Apple.

LG these days is really slow with updates, so it's actually no surprise that they won't make it in time with Pie for V40.
