It has been like that for a long time now.
Samsung Music is one of the best music players ever. Great aesthetic design, easy to use and lovely to look at. Really sets the mood. I wish they brought back the sorting by "Year" functionality, which was available on Jelly Bean and Kitkat.

Last in updates 4 times higher prices compared to manufacturing price and average to poor quality most devices. Apple is likely same.
I dont expect Samsung will start selling for price of Xiaomi. But if a phone cost 300 to make 600 would be optimal price 1200 is pure greed. Thus i dont like samsung.
Also lot of bloatware and lack of proper updates and mediocre quality which i said above, .

Honestly that does make the Samsung Music app more useful, I liked it on my S8 anyways. And it was one of my more used apps.
But in all honesty, I experienced lot of other people hyping "THIRD PARTY" while almoust hyperventilating, because, you know - they gotta change everything on their phone. And then they would complain on ads LOL...
Samsung made really good job with this app.

Like someone said below, the Spotify tab can fortunately be removed in options.
Personally, I preferred the look of the previous version.

Spotify is a buggy mess here lately on Android. Actually, most of the streaming music apps blow on Android.

I am well aware that there are MUCH better options than the stock player. But I hate having ads While I listen to music.

The UI is indeed more comfy. but if indeed it goes with the current song on bottom. a cute-ish bar on top that goes along the border showing song's progress would be an an awesome bonus in my opinion (Kinda like Youtube's~ ^^;)

Why is the volume adjust button mved to the top of the screen? Why do developers keep doing things like this? Things are never designed with usability in mind. Its like they design things making them look cosmetically, visually pleasing with no regards to practical reachability, usability.
We have phones in our hand where the middle of the screens are empty and every button is cramped in corners which are unreachable with the hand you are holding the phone and just hard to reach in general. My God.
