Google mocks Pixel Ultra rumors with a Pixel Mini sketch

A phone with 5/5.2 inch oled display and 18:9 ratio would be a perfect for many of us. So the phone doesn't have to be huge and still function properly. And if a larger battery needs another 1/2 mm of thickness, then be it. I think most of us won't mind sacrificing some extra beauty in favor of great performance/reliability/longevity boost.

A mini should be big enough to use one handed. Which means 5 inches bezeless, which in turn means around the iPhone 5 size wise. It would be a gold mine.
Then again google is out of touch with hardware design so they'll proceed to make the opposite of that which would then proceed to sell like sh*t.
IMO 3 phone sizes are needed. A "mini" (what we used to call "phone"), around 12x6 cm.
A " regular" (XS sized, tiny bit smaller probably), which is really a big phone at 14x7 cm.
And a phablet ( 16x8cm) which is the hugest possible that can realistically fit to a pocket.
We already got the last two categories. It's the first one that elude us. So whoever builds it well enough would make a killing. As always Google is wrong hardware wise. Can't wait for them to stop doing hardware. They honestly don't get it. They increasingly become like old Microsoft. Clueless and confused about what people want or the future in general...

I don't think anybody truly believes the Pixel Ultra is real it's a phone that you dream Google will launch but when you wake up you get the Pixel 3 XL with it's gigantic chin and ridiculous price tag and when you look at the feature list you wonder why does it cost so much more than a OnePlus 6.

In fact, I feel like with the tech evolving so rapidly it should become versatile - not in terms of standartisation and limits to the point of screen, input terminal and battery DLCs (in other words, going the Apple way), but in terms of being capable to do a n y t h i n g. It would be great if a phone had two jacks, two USB ports, a Swiss army knife of embedded adapters, all in a thin but substantial and sturdy casing, no questionable design quirks, could play CDs, cassette and R2R tapes, read floppies and LTOs, make coffee :D and its screen could shrink and expand from a tiny square perfect for a pocket to a phablet monstrosity... And it had a good antenna for reliable network reception.

Enough of these huge phones... my XZ1 compact is allready big... give me that key end phone... or at least reasonable compact phone...

Google can make fun of 'tiny' phones with all of the rest of the industry. But where is the 5 inch Pixel? You know, a phone that fits in one hand. Where you can reach the whole screen. That fits in a normal jean pocket.
They keep improving screen to body ratio but the phones stay the same size or become even bigger. You can barely hold them in your hand and they make them out of glass so you have to put a case on it making it even bigger.
