LG V40 ThinQ goes official with regular, ultra wide and telephoto cameras

03 October 2018
With a 6.4" OLED display, rugged build and LG's traditional audio features, the V40 is ready to take on the competition.

I hope the V50 will avoid a notch. Apple needs to hurry up and remove notches from their phones too.

However the v30 seemed to really take care of most of it

In my experience, LG is the least reliable company.
Each and every LG i ever owned eventually presented mulfunctions.
The G2 was exceptional, esp its battery, it took my ears to find smth to top it.
To my understanding, they are still haunted by the bootloop bug, started by the G4 generation.
The Vs are great, i really appreciate their poled, but i don't get why they have such a small battery. What a shame...

Funny how the lg v30 had one of the best lasting batterys for its time.. so if this chipset is more efficent it should last longer.. also a smaller battery keeps the overall weighy down.. so will just have to wait for an endurance test imo.. the v30 imo felt so light it was dam stupid.. considering how it had mtd std..

They were right. Sure it's a great device, but still falls short, too little too late, and charges way too much. Especially since it only added features that should have been standard in the g6 and v30

Still faking mil certification and now excessively over priced even more so than last year because they finally added features they should have had last year.. astounding.
Still a good device but this is getting old and ridiculous.

Typical LG phone. Quite promising and full of useful features, headphone jack and expandable storage. But too expensive and with too small battery. Should be at least 4000mah

The STB (screen-to-body) ratio of the LG V40 ThinQ, is given as 77.1% in the specifications page.

This looks like an obvious error. Hope you could calculate and put in an accurate value.

While, I would have liked LG to put a larger battery in there, I hope they can replicate (or even improve) the LG V30's battery endurance, which was able to eke out 93 hours from the same 3300 mAh battery.

For that money, most would surely pick the Note9. LG really are just kicking the can. They can't compete with Samsung, and it shows.

The triple camera is the best all-around solution and other manufacturers already seem to follow this setup. LG with its wide angle lens once more showed the right path.
My problem with the V40 is that it's not high-tech enough. I am a quad-DAC addict, but the notch and the absence of a front fingerprint scanner is not good enough for a late 2018 flagship. I'll wait for the G8.
