I saw from Samsung's diagram of the new sensor, that the DRAM is actually beneath the backside illuminator instead of being sandwiched in the middle like how Sony does it. The idea, however, is just the same.

Nick Tagataka, 04 Oct 2018Well, a part of the reason why Note 9's photos look better ... moreUsing Manual Mode and forcing the use of f/1.5 lens in day light situations prove almost no difference in sharpness levels. It's really just the background blur effect that differentiates both. If anything, corner softness can be overcame by cropping the image to hide the soft parts of the image. Samsung just made it worse on the processing part this year, hence the inferior low light images of this year's Samsung flagships compared to last year's Samsung flagships.

Awesome phone. Well worthy heir to the great V-series and a worthy challenger to the excellent Note9. ThanQ, LG!

Only downside would be the notch. At least it is one of the less intrusive ones.

      3.5 mm headphone jack.
      microSD card slot.
      FM Radio too.
IP68 ingress protection and MIL-STD-810G compliant.
Great 6.4 inch QHD+ OLED display.
Great design (low-bezel front and arrangement of triple cam in the back).
Dual Pixel Autofocus, 1.4 um pixel size and F1.5 aperture main camera.
Superb and useful triple camera combination of extra wide angle and telephoto.
Boombox speaker (could have been stereo though).

Hopefully the battery life is similar to that of the great LG V30 and it's 3300 mAh battery.

Besides camera things does not looking good, basic stories only 64, than competition offers minimum 128gb, and that battery definitely does not look will last long

For some reason, the 845 devices, even with the same sized batteries, seem to have inferior battery life. Phone Arena mention that this one is considerable worse than the V30.

Well now speak about horrible design.
At least it looks better than upcomming Sony phone.

"LG still believes in wired headphones, perhaps because of the 32-bit QuadDAC provides a sonic boost that not all Bluetooth headphones can match. The phone also boasts a BoomBox speaker (sadly, just the one)."

That is music to our Android Truthers' / Users' ears. :D
LG spoken the "COLD HARD" TRUTH about Bluetooth headphones :D

Finally they upgraded the camera I hope this year OLED is great too but $900 is too high

No, Samsung uses different technology to install DRAM under the camera sensor in order to avoid the patent issue with Sony. They use less advanced technology than Sony but it's simpler and cheaper to manufacture in their way.

Shanti Dope, 04 Oct 2018It's a fault on LG's part in processing. If Samsung could t... moreWell, a part of the reason why Note 9's photos look better is due to the fact it keeps using F2.4 aperture in day and only switches to F1.5 in lower lighting conditions. F1.5 lets in more light but it does look considerably softer especially towards corners, and LG clearly made a mistake by not using the variable aperture like Samsung did. Probably GCam port will somewhat help mitigate this issue, but hardware flaws can't be solved completely with software processing. They could've just stuck to F1.7 lens, but it looks like they preferred choose specs which can work better for the marketing... sadly.

[deleted post]It's a fault on LG's part in processing. If Samsung could take great photos with similar hardware to the main camera (same f/1.5 lens), then it means that there's no problem in the idea.
I have a mirrorless camera, and I see no difference in sharpness between f/3.5 and f/6.3, except the former gathers more light (reducing ISO levels, which also leads to lower amount of noise) and produces a more beautiful background blur (depends on the scene, but most people prefer the blurrier background effect).

--Yep, but they paid the patents to Sony before they had the same technology on their own sensors.

                                    "P20 Pro records 30fps and playbacks 960fps"
--Nope, LOL. Unless you're being sarcastic, it's a difficult task for super high end processors to increase the frame rate up to 32x, let alone smartphone processors. And even if you can, the result will be horrible, since there's not much frame to add to the video to make it look natural.
In reality, P20 Pro shoots a normal 720p@240fps slow motion video then it slows it down to 960fps using frame interpolation.

I am a happy owner LG V30 and was looking for an upgrade.... but disappointed on several counts:

                                      - Now V series has also gone the way of notches and extra-long aspect ratio (19.5:9). LG V30 was a good example of keeping bezels minimum, and with 18:9 aspect ratio, it had a very balanced designed.

                                      - No 128GB option

                                      - Same battery despite an increase in size. Should have been 3600mAH at least.

Wait for a notch-free flagship continues. Seems like Samsung will be the only option from now on.... (or something with those slider mechanisms)

LG will become my default choice for cameras.
