Ever since version 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) and above, the interface for tablets have been very good.
But many people often say iOS, is the one that cuts many corners, when it comes to a custom tablet OS. Something as basic as the iPad homescreen, is almost directly ported from the iPhone interface, with only support for 4 or 5 app icons per row. Even a proper side by side multi-screen has never been implemented.

We want good Android flagship tablets (I hope Samsung and Sony are listening).
But if there is one good thing from this article, it is the picture of the excellent Galaxy Tab S4 in the review HQ. Yes! Prayers have been heard. Hopefully a review will be out soon.

It's very sad that Sony stopped after the excellent Z4 Tablet. I was pretty relieved to know that Samsung has not given up on flagship Android tablets after the releasing no flagship tablets in 2016.
The good news is that they are improving it and bringing back much wanted features like the widescreen display. The only drawback is using last year's chip. Hopefully we will see better days ahead for flagship Android tablets.

My mom loves my tablet when she lies in her bed and enjoys a nice episode of her fav show. She can't do it with my desktop and laptop. Desktop - not possible in general, laptop goes warm on its bottom and this is the part she keeps near her belly (as the device lies on her)... She hates my tablet in other cases. My dad accepts it 'cause he can enjoy Mr. Attenborough's documentaries without looking for remote control unit. No idea how my dad manages to misplace it - always and everywhere! I guess it's harder to misplace a tablet if one doesn't sit on it in which case one needs another device.

Its because Android phones has much versalite than iPhone. Thats is why gaming on iPhone is not recommended despite the battery. iPad is better for gaming.

Just to expand on your deflection. These fake stats shell companies used iPad sales to boost Mac sales numbers all up until this year. Now they're suddenly gerrymandering the numbers to exclude others to paint a completely different picture.

So that's why convertibles and ultrabooks can't be considered in those numbers for tablets and instead they go to the laptops - PC's sections.

bill jobs, 03 Oct 2018scroo the tablets. i love my desktop. you cant beat a des... moreI use mine when I'm too lazy to turn the whole PC on, when I'm travelling somewhere or when I cook and have the recipe opened on it (and they are MUCH easier to use than phones in the kitchen with messy hands while cooking).
If you have a desktop PC for the powerful tasks, tablet is a very nice substitute for a laptop.

I was thinking about getting tablet, but 10 inch ones are either pricey or have slow internals (low RAM, dumb CPU, small ROM, etc.) .
So I will get 12.5" old Thinkpad instead, it costs far less.

Another reason is not using flagship chipset. I want to use a tablet that has SD845 IN THIS year. Not NEXT YEAR! NEXT year I want 855.

scroo the tablets. i love my desktop. you cant beat a desktop computer. i can use it for anything. tablets are only for parents to keep their kids entretained, and plus, most parents (dads) will never give their phones to their kids anyway because they can venture into the downloads gallery and see all the porny pictures and videos, so tablets are the way to go for kids.

There's the elephant in the room Apple didn't want mentioned in the advertising, running Windows, growing faster than Apple on tablets. It is thanks to Microsoft and their convergence that large tablets has gotten a revival. Because it turned out that people actually loves converging tablets and ultrabooks. There's the ridiculous assessment that no phone will ever be bigger than 6.5 inches because Apple still thinks they're dictating the market despite 85% ignoring what Apple thinks.

To be honest, only the iPads are decent enough with the specs, software and features, the options are very limited and only Samsung offer good tablets but the OS update support time is much shorter than iPads and don't have the same "mojo" as the Apple products.
So, it makes sense those numbers even you don't want to believe it.
