Sony's phone are better phones than the competition in a lot of ways. They're innovator's phones. But the image is the only thing that they have a problem with.

What makes you think that cheapest of trio will have better camera? Just do some comparing before jumping into conclusions.

Unless you mean that Apple has included a better camera on the XR than the main flagship Xs brothers.

This phone looks great, and if it randomly appeared on my doorstep one day I'm sure I'd be absolutely delighted with it. But with that price, there's no way I'd every actually buy it.

Sony's phone sales is bad.
Time and time again, they get the following neg views.
1. Wash out display.
2. Cost a BOMB.
3. Backward specs.
Most people buy just the brand.. thinking its good.. and get disappointed and never return. Same news as their TVs. They got beaten bad by other brands, in all areas.
They might have changed. They might have improved, but its gonna take alot of marketing and adverts to attract customers.

Most people only use Sony and... moreLiving in Singapore, in my own experience it's more of a balanced proportion, I would see a fair share of Sony (Though slightly lesser than others), SAMSUNG, LG, HUAWEI, XIAOMI and Apple, as for the other brands like HTC it's pretty much non-existent to be honest

People with extra money usually buy either high end Samsung or new iphone, and Chinese mostly go to huawei instead of samsung
Sony become somewhat niche brand because truth be told most malaysian didn't care for update in android world
I myself know a lot of people use sony but they(including myself) didn't convince other to switch because people mentality of "why buy these if you can get an iphone"
And sony at fault for lack of proper marketing here in Malaysia, just look at oppo and vivo huge marketing
