I just wish it was without edge. No crappy ai. A smooth ui without glitches and crashes because of the new kind of screen. Under screen fingerprint, as fast as the button version. Ai made me switch to Oneplus and a real camera.

I can see that the opinions regarding the new design are mixed throughout this community.
Whether you like it or not, using a unique and original design will help Huawei in the long run.
Personally though, i love the new design. It's beautiful and sexy.

From the side view it looks that sensor size is as small as 1/2.3 inch. If that is so then i think pro version will protrude more than non pro model to incorporate 1/1.7 inch sensor

Kiyasuriin, 05 Oct 2018She* ^^;
And I did replied to myself eplaining the mistakes. No, i meant the other guy as 'he'...
Back to the topics, rumor says that Mate 20 will ditch the monochrome sensor & replace it with wide angle. I love the dual aperture features on S9 & hopefully be applied to Mate 20 rgb sensor but on 1.2-2.4 range for low lights improvements because of the monochrome sensor loss.
But dont know, its just rumors...

Why you guys are so defensive when it comes to the Mate 20? They phone isn't that impressive, it looks ugly asf (front and back) and the UI is maybe the worst thing ever and also the price it's a very expensive phone.
Imagine if this was an LG or HTC phone everone will start to hate it...

Furiounx, 05 Oct 2018I haven't gotten my head around that sensor size and what n... moreNo. That's aperture. Hahaha!
Let's get stuff sorted out, shall we?
Sensor size refers to HOW PHYSICALLY LARGE is the sensor, in smartphones, they are less than an inch (2.54cm) in diagonal large. So. To represent how large it is? It's shown in a relative size: a sensor that is 1/1.7 inch is LARGER than 1/2.3 as percentage wise: it's closer to an inch. (Around 58% in diagonal compared to 41% or so) SO, to understand the logics behind it, just divide the 1 in the number after the slash, the bigger it is, the larger.
As for Aperture. I love using Eyes for comparasion.
Look in the mirror. I don't know your eye color however in 95% of the cases it's: still relatively easy to notice... and examine your eyes, Do you see a colored ring circling a black circle? This is your Iris and Pupil.
Go to a sunny place or turn on the light. Did you see the iris suddenly taking more space? Turn it off now. The pupil takes more space now.
The same goes for Smartphones.
The Aperture is pretty much working as the iris and the lens is the pupil. Aperture is a hexadecimal system showing how much light can be captured basically.
A high Aperture, which is typically represented as f/x (with X being a number between 0-16) means that few light can enter the retina/sensor. An example of high aperture in biology is Sunlight. Your iris would show an aperture of F/14-f/16
The LOWER it is, the MORE light can enter, as the blades controlling light are smaller, such an example would be nightclub. Where the light is really low.
You'd notice an aperture as low as f/1.2 in the human eye, tiny Iris Ring, Huge pupil.
And I'll add a cherry on top, did you know the lowest aperture ever achieved is F/0.7? This aperture is SO BRIGHT you can watch the stars in night time!

Mate 20 pro will have 1/1.7 inch camera sensor....so, no iphone, google pixel, samsung phones will beat large sensor camera phone like p20 pro and mate 20 pro..because large sensor is large sensor..
