07 October 2018
LG is working hard to stay at the bleeding edge of camera tech, but will its efforts be met with a boom in market share or with indifference from users?

CptPower, 08 Oct 2018Well to me LG is at same levekl with their phones like HTC ... moreLG, HTC and Sony should be grouped together. At least the other two brands have decent quality.

Kriegsherr, 08 Oct 2018Maybe to you and few others like you only. Look, LG simply ... moreWell they offer Excellent TVs best in the world and they make profit here.
But the Mobile phone section is just laughable.

Why do they cover the entire phone with camera and call it PINEAPPLE phone.

LG also has low availability, many countries still don't have G7 and hardly V30 thinq or plus or other models. The price also on start is also high but by the time it drops people lose interest.Lack of advertisement and contracts with phone companies like T mobile,AT T and others isnt their thing.LG was successful when they included bundles like modules bonuses or VR bonus.LG online has low prices but in stores the price doesn't drop making older models still priced high, mostly in Europe. In Europe many LG models are priced higher than Samsung even (except for note series which here cost like 1k euroes).

Wenle, 08 Oct 2018Actually i like this camera setup from LG, but LG always kn... moreI've been using my LG G5 for 2 years now and still going on smoothly... Battery stays a full days on average usage, even though I've got the camera mod on which helps a bit.
Camera is still great and I use manual mode in low light to get great shots.... Auto mode has never been the best with LG and they need to improve their Camera software plus updates.... Still stuck on Nougat 7.0 and no hope of 8.0 or 8.1 Oreo coming.... Been waiting to see what the V40 has to offer and as much as the Camera is a big improvement (Manual mode can always fix the focus issue on the telephoto which most people complain about and can guarantee that with the right settings this phone would take better pictures than other flagships). One big draw back for me here is the storage size.... Who makes a flagship phone with 64gb storage... That could have worked with the G7 but I expected LG to have come with 128gb as base storage with a larger option of 256gb. That would have appealed to most users. Battery to me is okay and would definitely take you through a day. It's still better than the Galaxy S9+ which has a bigger battery and a little short of the Note 9 with an even more massive battery... For those complaining of the battery size it's not really that bad and way better than they really think

this post is incomplete dont speak of de A.I and the other thinks very important for this phone

Normally I wouldn't even accept dual cameras especially if it's sole purpose is to create that ever so ugly fake bokeh effect.

However, LG camera setup is logical and useful; one standard, telephoto & wide.

That notch is so f ugly all notches are ugly it looks incomplete

lg is dead.........no matter how good the phone is........huawei samsung and apple......will be better because of brand.

the only way to succeed is to create a new brand for the phone.

Why can't we have the third option, i.e "meh" for the indifferent?

Weakness of this phone is battery and questionable storage space for asking price. Plus Poled longevity overall, I would not considered this phone very hot to be honest besides camera department.

  • Leepu

A big no because of the notch. For $950 why would anybody buy an iPhone clone when they can get the real thing.

i prefer mirror-less camera

Well to me LG is at same levekl with their phones like HTC so its an almost dead brand which offers nothing i really would care about.

I jumping on either the Oneplus 6t or this LG when price drops. The wideangle lens and the headphone jack is really useful for me..

Awesome phone. Well worthy heir to the great V-series and a worthy challenger to the excellent Note9. ThanQ, LG!

Only downside would be the notch. At least it is one of the less intrusive ones.

3.5 mm headphone jack.
microSD card slot.
FM Radio too.
IP68 ingress protection and MIL-STD-810G compliant.
Great 6.4 inch QHD+ OLED display.
Great design (low-bezel front and arrangement of triple cam in the back).
Dual Pixel Autofocus, 1.4 um pixel size and F1.5 aperture main camera.
Superb and useful triple camera combination of extra wide angle and telephoto.
Boombox speaker (could have been stereo though).

Hopefully the battery life is similar to that of the great LG V30 and it's 3300 mAh battery.
