07 October 2018
LG is working hard to stay at the bleeding edge of camera tech, but will its efforts be met with a boom in market share or with indifference from users?

No. It's too expensive, the battery is too small and it has a notch. LG need to get their s**t together

LG is pathetic with their update service.
I own V20 and it's still on Android 7.0 and the last security patch I have is September 2017.
So whatever the configuration is if the after sales support is horrific then the phone is not worth the money you pay, be there 5 cameras or 50 cameras

Not the five cameras but the 3,5 mm jack and Quad DAC will make me buy it.

I've never had an LG phone, so I can't say much, but judging by the specs it seems pretty good.
The battery is kinda small considering the displays size.
              V40Q: 6.4" 3300 mAh battery
              S9+: 6.2" display 3500 mAh battery
              Drawbacks :
              - NOtch
              - a lot of users complain about LG's update service

LG is a crap. No updates, bad quality, no support. Even the best camera (but it's average) doesn't worth insane price. LG is B- brand but costs like A brands. No.

Wtf LG?!!? Only 5 cameras? I need 6 cameras.

Will probably buy it if it's available in Europe (The V20 and V35 weren't). The camera looks fantastic but I'm a bit worried about the battery life. Currently own a V30 and the 3300 mAh battery is great, but on a bigger screen not sure if 3300 mAh will be enough. I guess I'll have to watch some long-term reviews before the purchase.
Also Quad DAC is a must for me so I have no choice but to stick with LG.

I think the voting is a bit too aggressive for those not liking this new V40. I mean just because I don't love it does not mean I straight away hate it. There could have easily been and should have been an option of "Not interested, will wait for the next flagship from other manufacturers". But GSMArena here kind of literally force the voter to either completely love or hate the V-40 which can not be the case with any smartphone today, from Redmi 6 to IPhone Xs Max, no one can say he/she absolutely hate that certain smartphone, but they are simply inclined towards another product.

What's the use of 5 cameras, when ur phone runs out of juice in less than an hour of continuous use of them?

Doesn't matter how many cameras are there. To shoot we need decent battery.
