05 October 2018
The OS version is unfortunate given that Pie has been available for a while.

Weduz97, 08 Oct 2018What did you meant with worse gpu than predecessor? I think... moreRealme 2 had a worse processor aswell as a worse GPU compared to it's predecessor.

Same thing here, they'll probably have a Helio P60 SOC as an 'upgrade' to their SD636.

The CPU is faster, GPU is worse.

If this phones makes an announcement next year...hopefully they (ASUS) would make this units run on ANDROID 9, or else...DAF**K!!!!!! Also, hopefully they would slap in not another 2 year old SoC, or else...DAF**K!!!!!

"but we wouldn't be surprised at all if the new Max (M2) and Max Pro (M2) go with notched touchscreens, in order to align themselves with the hottest trend of the moment in the mobile space. "

Statements like this above "scare" us Android Truthers / Users into thinking it may most likely happen soon. It is not "trendy" to have a NOTCH regardless. It covers screen real estate.

Now i see the reason why m1 pro got price cuts in flipkart. Thank god i didn't buy them... Waiting for m2.

ASUS has been making excellent phones as of late. The Zenfone 5z is by far the most underrated Phone of 2018. I find it really unfortunate when good products don't sell much...

Now, when there are several phone makers who bet high in the low mid-range market (Lenovo z5, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Pocophone F1, Oppo Realme 1 & 2 pro, Nokia x5) which is the MOST COMPETITIVE market, with VERY TEMPTING affordable devices, you asked them to get the NEW but CRAPPY lower-end SD6xx with worse GPU than its predecessor?

Dude, when it comes to recent SD SoC, all 6xx series have similar standby time; what makes it different is the battery capacity the phone maker going to slap onto the devices.

Therefore, if possible, many tech-savvy prefers last year flagship SoC to power the mid-range devices, like what Lg do with the g7 one (SD835) and g7 fit (SD821), because, u'll get similar battery endurance as the NEW SD6xx, but FAR BETTER CPU, GPU, & ISP performance

From the names the new phones will be 6.2in. Far too big. I wish more manufacturers would stick to 5.8in.

Triple card slot and massive battery are a boon in cell phones.
Sincerely Hope they make the switch from micro to USB C to make them really desirable to own.

                                  rumor rumor rumor

I hope they got a new snapdragon low tier 600 with 10nm node, eg Snapdragon 640, dont put a 660 its old chip, more powerful yes but least power efficiency than 636. But it's seems like a buy old new phone if they put 660 inside.

And this thing happens every damn year, yet you seem still shocked.
Galaxy S9's Bluetooth and WiFi certifications were published in late 2017, but only got released in early 2018. This will be a similar case.

This is getting ridiculous, yes we're all hyped with Max Pro M1 but in just 4 months they are about to release the next gen? Why not just wait until next year and gets an Android Pie OS on it instead of similar specs with notched display smh
