Furiounx, 09 Oct 2018My issue with gaming phones is that they always compromise ... moreI thought that the whole point of gaming phones is to use lower-grade components for non-game-related features so that you can bring down the price without compromising SoC hence the graphic performance. Also in order to extend the battery life they tend to have large battery capacity and use a cheaper, lower resolution display.

Gaming phones (obviously) focus on the gaming compartment. The things they need are good amount of ram,a good processor,heat dissipating techniques and a good battery.
A better screen,and stuff like game optimization softwares etc could be a bonus.

VOOC from Oppo for example has electric converter inside the charger so that the phone itself won't heat up. It's likely that Huawei's Super Charge is also using similar technology, and then 50W Super VOOC has been made possible by basically dividing a battery cell into 2 smaller ones and charging them at half the voltage simultaneously, which prevents both overheating and rapid battery degradation. We'll soon see how 40W Super Charge 2 on this phone will hold up.

In my opinion, a gaming phone should focus only on raw performance instead of other features, at a budget price. They already have Mate 20 pro as a complete flagship phone. And their Honor series, the 'X' word stands for budget type of phone. Well lets wait for it.

My issue with gaming phones is that they always compromise on something. If they can provide a gaming phone with IP67+, QuadHD display, front facing stereo speakers, great rear cameras (dual cameras at least) and a big battery (Bigger than Mate 20 Pro so maybe 4200mAh+) then that'll be a winner for sure.

Huawei has been killing it lately. All excellent phones with little to no compromises.
