I'll be not surprised if Nokia makes it to the Top 3 before 2024 because that's when it is the end of HMD.

Nokia is just selling a name, it's obvious. Like Apple. Offer either crappy quality or crippled hardware and software and brainwash people to buy anyway because your brand is "premium" . Disgusting.

Now they are started again from scratch but indeed a good start. Still they are survived with this phones. And iam really happy to say the peoples who where previously teasing me that i buyed nokia phone now praising each and every devices of Nokia. Starting from a scratch is not a easy thing it needs patience hence till time nokia making innovations they are generally setting there midrange phones with some more cost which they require to invest on innovations which hopefully we will see on 2019 for sure. Slowly they are upgrading but iam really proud that my favourite childhood brand is slowly winning the race. Nokia is again No. 1 in Vietnam and No. 5 in UK and Russia. And globally at 9th spot. What can you expect?
Do you find this easy to survive in such a huge competition market?
In india i have never seen any Nokia phone ads on TV still they are making product marketing via online market which is almost free of cost which help them to make more revenue for making innovations. And about Xiaomi they are making money by showing ads on Settings Page(LOL). They are making money by adding a bloatware and risky MI Cloud.
Nokia is clean with no bloatware at all. They don't have second source of income.
They have set up a goal to regain its fame in the market and i can proudly say yes iam supporting them. I have Nokia 6 and award winning Nokia 7 Plus all of them are still uptodate no matter how many device comes they never forget their previous models. Today i have updated my Nokia 6 2017 with october patch which is already on 8.1 since long months back. Almost every month i have got security patch update since i have buy it
I would never forgot the old glorious days which i have spent with Nokia phones.

But is understandable that fooled fans that expended their money in those phones still try to justify it.

So Nokia really has no excuse offering such uninspiring devices. Remember, they were supposed to not be just another chinese company offering low-quality crap. It doesn't need to be expensive to offer good audio, good battery (Actually good batteries are usually found in mid-rangers) and lack of notch. It's not that, they are just too mediocre. Xiaomi does better, at least they don't neglect batteries and sound from the headphone jack is usually also great (Whith pocophone being an exception).

If they're announcing more than one phone, then maybe this time they will finally announce the Nokia 9. The picture used in the teaser, demonstrates photography and their caption: '...reveal the big picture...' seem to focus on photography. So here's hoping cuz with all the 4 camera phones coming out soon, Nokia can still take the headlines and spotlight with 5 Cameras, which in-itself will practically be free marketing for them. By 2019, I can't help but feel they will be the ones following the trend. The only reason I think would be acceptable for 2019 delay, is if it's because the 5 cams + software need more powerful processor.

If its 7.1 plus with ois added in the mix ... I m in

Hopefully they launch the 7.1 Plus in the United States as well. The regular 7.1 is not a good enough value.

Another day of waste of time & interest that Nokia people wants to make us go through with their multiple denominations of his devices: 6.0; 6.1; 6.1.1.1 Plus, etc, etc, etc.
All designs copied with notch and nothing remarkable to contribute to the Android market.
This Nokia that does not look at all like that brand that amazed when it was Symbian, or some Microsoft device.

That's why Nokia is focusing more on the midrange game, and it worked like magic since last year.

Xiaomi Redmi has provided 10s of options under INR 15k ($200) for Indian market.

That Nokia 6.1+ and Nokia 5.1+ seem to be achieving. Thus if Nokia makes such special announcement of another mid ranger, makes sense.
