I mean, take a look at Nokia. ( They got their own camera and some of their own features I believe, tap to wake/ I think always-on is within reach or maybe not).

Nokia, xiaomi, moto and some other OEM that made Android One got their own stuff too, it isn't JUST purely Android One ( stock Android).

And beside, it is a midranges phone, just how many of these features can be good ( without making the phone over time ?)

If Nokia can do all their phones ( Nokia 2, 2.1, 3, 3.1, 5, 5.1, 6, 6.1, 7, 7.1, 8, and the plus ones ) with Android One and a light skin of their own + some Nokia feature.

    Why not the others?

A side mounted fingerprint sensor... Jeez, I wonder where did they get that idea from...

That's the reason. Also many of android's native features came from samsung's UI (like multi-window and Always-on screen).

                            No OIS - no fun.

I just don't understand why Samsung, Sony, LG, and HTC or even as well as lenovo doesn't just make this midranges phone with Android One?

Why waste so much time and effort on those useless features and heavily modified UI/skin?

I mean, hardware wise they aren't that bad, and having use Android One instead of their own heavily modified version of Android is probably better and save them time and resources as well.

That way, they can even bring the price down a little bit to compete to others in a more aggressive way.
