You know huawei is out of touch with prices when you can get iPhone XR for 50 euros less than Mate 20. This pricing is killing the interest in both phones before anyone has even got a feel for them.

Out of all the android phonee released the year. Huaweis Mate 20 Pro is worth the price tag more than any other.
The cutting edge tech in it is not in any other phone

This is big mistake from all Android makers. This is just helping Apple to sell Iphones. The difference is just 100€ (for some models). If difference were 350€ or 400€, more and more people would go from Iphone to (some) Android.

The hardware is solid unlike some of these other brands that ask more or less the same ammount but I still think its a bad move.
Huawei differentiated themselves from other brands by launching quality flagships without asking the same as brands like Apple and Samsung were starting to ask for theirs.
Now that will be gone and they'll have to do what they can without that selling point, time will tell if they succeed or not.
I personally think they will sell less Mate 20s because of this decision...

Unlike the iPhone XS Max, the Mate 20 Pro has expensive hardware from inside & out...
Still, i think phone prices in general is getting out of hand. Flagship phone prices in particular should go down to more reasonable levels.
