Hopefully, the next HTC flagship will bring back the 3.5 mm headphone jack and see better days ahead.

HTC needs to bring back headphone jack and front speakers.
A brighter screen without poor battery life, maybe the WRGB like G7/XZ2 Premium/Mate 20.
Drop the 1/2.55", work with Sony or Canon to design a 17MP 1/1.9".
Replace the telephoto for a 12MP 1/2.3" monochrome.
Make two versions : LCD any oled.

Whackcar, 16 Oct 2018HTC has been launching underwhelming phones as of late. Wha... moreNo matter if HTC, Sony, Motorola, Asus and LG tag their flagships below $800.
People will still choose to pay above $950 for Apple or Samsung.

While chinese costumers will buy local brands. Even if they cost more than $500 and come with SD 660 plus microUSB like many phones from Vivo and Oppo.

HTC always was a top end brand with high quality products. With prices like today on flagships there are market for a brand like HTC, to continue to push quality products like they are pushing.
I've both Htc 10 and HTC 11 and they are fantastic devices. I bet htc u12+ is also a great device. unfortunately with bad marketing and worst with product changes decisions they lost 90% of their fan base. and the rest don't care anymore about htc. It's not that Wish list brand anymore. It's not.
Guess brand recognition is lost for good. I doubt they can recover from this. I'm a fan of their products, but I doubt.

Woah this is rare, updates and HTC!

HTC has been launching underwhelming phones as of late. What they need is a major overhaul... kind of like what Sony did with the XZ3. HTC should do something similar as an attempt to save their sinking ship.

                              A large 6.4+ inch 1440p OLED screen + 4000 mAh battery + New design

An HTC U13 with the above mentioned internals (along with the usual set of yearly upgrades in SoC & Camera) would get good sales, if priced around the $750 ballpark. They can increase the price on successor models once they regain their brand value.
