xXENDER FREAKXx, 16 Oct 2018One thing that's troublesome is, the SD Card, it ain't Micro SDI Agree, I don't know if you remember the situation with camera's in 2000, you had Fujifilm with their XD cards, Sony with their memory sticks, etc.
I just stuck with the universal SD cards & have never had 1 fail on me.
If this is an attempt to lock in their customers, then it would be a bad move.
If it ain't broke then don't try to fix it *cough Apple*

One plus 6 may be water proof, but you don't know because they didn't pay any test or certification to have it on the specs.
still they are different markets, your comparison doesn't make any sense. i7 are still on 14nm tecnology, a computer is 50x larger, way easier to make. smartphone are already at 7nm and way difficult to make because of the size. The costs on new tecnology that are presented every year, is way larger than on computers...
can you take pictures with your i7?
can you unlock your computer with your finger or face?
can you record video?
can you take your computer with you in your pocket?
can you go take a shower with your computer?
do you take your computer to bed with you?
it makes calls?
comparing them in price doesn't make sense just because they both have processors in it.

I am a fan of Huawei, but I must admit that they are going the wrong route with these prices. Their devices aren't as perfect as they should yet (The Mate 20 is far from a flagship phone like the Iphone X or Samsung Galaxy S9's for that price). And while the Mate pro justifies its price better it should still sell for less than $1000. The only think that comes to mind when thinking about why Huawei priced these phones so high is that they already are factoring Holydays and the posterior devaluations of these phones so they are trying to take advantage of early buyers that don't mind spending these amounts to get them ASAP and Prices dropping by January in order to make a profit out of them all the way until Spring next year. That is cheap to be honest. and I hope some way or another they wake up and realize that the best way to position themselves at the top is by providing customer's with quality products at fair prices. (which is why people hate Apple)

Surprisingly, in Malaysia the price are:
Mate 20 - $675
Mate 20 pro - $867
The same price launch as previous Mate 10 & P20 series here. Woohooo! Its pretty weird because across the Europe, Huawei hiking their price up.

A smartphone that costs 1000 is... moreI can't speak for the other guy, but just because things are available on the cloud isn't much of an excuse to not have a SD slot. For 128gb, that's not much of an issue, but it can be with 64gb since app sizes are always increasing as more features are added and using data to access your media will always take longer than if it is locally stored

In my country there is a place that is giving a free Huawei Watch GT if you pre-order an Mate 20 pro. That's not a bad deal.

A smartphone that costs 1000 is aimed for people that can afford them, not to people that needs to sell a kidney to have 1. Streaming music companies like Spotify/Google Music/Amazon Music/Apple Music and to watch movies with Netflix or Amazon prime usually are services that those kind of people already have. There are a lot's of cloud storage also cheap or free (I've 100Gb google drive free when I bought my Htc 10).
With that in mind, having SD card slot doesn't make sense in 2018 in a 1000$ device to those kind of people already having streaming services. I've only 64Gb (not 128Gb like this news Mates) and I never had a single problem with not having space. I listen music 5-8hour a day - spotify premium), watch tutorials from internet or watch movies in my amazon prime account in hollydays. All my work (I'm an app developer) are in my cloud and personal computer or my NAS.
To people that have 100-300 euros phones...yes SD card may be mandatory. Usually they don't have those kind of services because they are not cheap. In that point I understand the need of an SD card. What I don't understand, is people that can't afford 1000$ phones still cries about them not having SD cards. Those phones are not for you...get over it. Like you said different persons, have different needs. Those phones are made for some kind of persons in mind, not to everyone. That's why a brand have more than 1 device.

But like sammy and another brand, i dont like what they are. It looks like soon Huawei with their prices is one of them to.

They released a phone with... morePersonally i dont want pie for gestures only and my security patchs are pretty much up to date..on my samsung.. so i'm not lying to myself.. i assume you havent ever owned a flagship samsung. Only way i would have faster updates is if i had a pixel or swap to ios

Huawei doesn't yet know how to do a decent UX skin.
EMUI has lots of iffy features, and you can't change them.
And because the bootloader is not unlockable, no hacks and no custom ROMs....
