I was using the Huawei Mediapad x2 (7.0 inches) back in 2015 and it was the perfect companion for me as I'm a frequent traveller and don't like taking excess devices on the road (x2 phones, laptop, tablet etc). Again, this was 3 years ago. Now look at the general device sizes across the major phone manufactures, they've all grown in size significantly since 2015. Did you ever think there would be an iPhone 6.5 inches in size? 7.2" is perfect for ME, I wear a suit most of the time and always use a head-set. I use it for work, personal and gaming without needing any other devices.

For the asking price of Porsche Design Mate 20 RS, it shouldn't be using an aluminum frame, it should be made of stainless steel or titanium.

          I'm a bit confused
Is this a Cellphone or Tablet?

I still don't get who said 5.5" was too small.
But then you have to commend Huawei for such an amazing phone and making phones for everyone

                    Any day now.

They'll be calling microsd a thing of the past.

Never mind that they shilled for cloud computing back in the old days and insulted people who wanted offline functions on Google Docs and Sheets.

I still think Razer and ASUS pulled off the better cooling design overall. But I will say, a 7" chassis should make cooling a bit easier since the device has more space. Nice job Huawei. Still, F** you for removing root. But nice job on design. I'm not totally horrified by it.

However Huawei's LCDs also use sub pixel rendering which makes the standard mate 20 a deal breaker for me.

I use a Nokia 7 plus which has a 6 inch 18:9 1080p screen, I can't be bothered to do the math but that's around 423ppi, my LG G3 was 571ppi and even at normal viewing distances you can tell the screen is noticeably sharper and more detailed, I really miss it.

I disagree with you guys, this phone is actually not alot bigger then the Apple 8Plus was (width wise) so it will fit in most men pockets and women have a tendency not to carry phones in their pockets anyway - phablets are already a thing on the market its just uncommon to have them part of a normal series (samsung has them soney does and many others do too - but they all are not flagships, THIS IS)
so yea i guess i may give it a shot - dont rule it out without having tried anything close or having more knowledge then a gut feeling about it

Great innovation from Huawei. Shots Fired.

M-Pen seems pretty good. Thank goodness it is not a LG-type simple, passive stylus. However, I wonder whether it is a WACOM pen like the S-Pen.

Also, not having it in a slot, despite being much bigger than the Note9 and having to buy it separately, is a huge drawback, and that already makes it no match to the already more versatile S-Pen.

The Huge OLED screen is awesome. But Huawei really missed a golden chance to make a perfect rectangular screen by including a small but still intrusive notch that disrupts the full-screen effect. Plus, 1080p+ resolution on a 7.2" display means 345 ppi, a far cry from the pin sharp 518 ppi from the Note9's QHD+ display.

The additional of a 3.5 mm headphone jack over the Pro model is awesome, especially when you consider this is much cheaper too.

5000 mAh battery is superb. The triple camera combination seems great.

The less said about the Mate 20 Porsche Design, the better.

The NM card is just more planned obsolescence from Huawei. They could have made it in similar dimensions to the microSD card, but no, they had to force their decisions on the customer. Disgusting tactic.

It's sad to know that phones will be that big in a couple of years... and the silly comparison to explain the size will be the same: "it's not much bigger than a 5,5'' phablet from 2015", but back then they compared them against 5'' screens, but the latter were compared to 4,5'' smartphones and their bezels, and so on.

Those who do all their computing on a smartphone will have nothing to complain about, though.

Although not very sharp, it is adequate for normal use. Being an OLED will also make it appear better than an LCD. In other words, it is a better display than the one Apple is putting on their XR... although that isn't saying much.
