There is not any single type of OLED, Samsung doesn't use the Note9 OLeD on it's budget phones. But the best OLEDs in the market are always Samsung made.

It's far from color accurate but AFAIK people do prefer blueish tint in displays vs accurate one (which is in the middle of blue and yellow), at least I do and I calibrate my display as such (if not already out of the box).

I guess they got tired of being plagued by the various issues of LG-made screen in the Pixel 2 XL and decided to go for Samsung's awesome screen.
Now that we know it, shouldn't the specs be changed from P-OLED to AMOLED?!

Just in case maybe you forgot, Samsung is the market leader in OLEDs, both in terms of quantity and quality.

It doesn't mean all units use Samsung oled.
Many OEMs work with more than one supplier for some components.
Xperia use screens from JDi, Sharp and LG.
New iPhones have amoled and poled.
Older iPhones had screen from different sources
