Mi Mix 3 is going to score a few world's firsts.

Telstra in Australia has 5g towers now . Just looking for a phone that can use it.

Since the Snapdragon 845 processor can only address a maximum of 8GB of RAM, I wonder about the extra 2GB. Under this processor, will it just go to waste and be used for nothing more than bragging rights for a misinformed and under informed public? It Xiaomi, however, finds a way to actually use the full 10GB, that would be impressive.

Any complaints about it being too much memory won't stand the test of time. When we look back, they will look ignorant and silly. I still recall several decades ago Bill Gates claiming that 640 megabytes was more than enough memory for any computer. Things change. Some people, however, don't.

I hope someday they will be available.

I think I've heard 10 GB RAM before, on a phone.
Don't remember, maybe it was a Oppo or Vivo, or maybe Lenovo. But it does exist.

5G yes it may be first.

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2018Yep, but the thing is that 2GB of ram is future proof... ev... moreAbsolutely not. 2GB is unbearable, even 3 GB is pretty much obsolete and during multitasking apps get killed pretty quickly. Just because the phone still works, doesn't mean it works ideally for those expectig a high level of performance.

Today 4GB is minimum for flagship performance, and 6GB recommended. Everything above is bonus and futureproofing.

Some people do, so there is need for more than 2GB but as I said 2GB is future proof for at least 4-6 years.

Buying a phone that has just enough RAM to cope today isn't ideal, and multi tasking already now and in the time to come will be affected.

Depending on tasks you can already perform, such as video editing, more RAM can be very useful. I'm also curious if Xiaomi plans to come with a desktop mode soon.

Anonymous, 17 Oct 2018Maybe 855 lolSD855 will likely be named SD8150 according to many. It will be interesting to see if Xiaomi become the first with this chipset. As a significant change over the Mi Mix 2s, it kind of should have a better chipset than SD845.
