Montblanc Summit 2 is the first watch with Wear 3100 chipset

Surprisingly, the price isn't the biggest obstacle to buying this watch (though it's not cheap).

I have the Galaxy Active2 and like it. The battery life has been amazing. There have been times when it's lasted 3 or 4 days without re-juicing (although it's been on 2 or 3% on the 4th day, but that's still amazing). But just yesterday (11-4-2021) I got the wild idea of going and getting the Montblanc Summit Lite. I'm taking a day and wearing both. First, the Summit Lite doesn't really have any characteristics that would let others know you're wearing a Montblanc. The higher-end Montblanc has the white cap on the stem/button on the side, but the Lite is black-on-black, so not very visible. Also, after the first 2 hours of wear, the Samsung is on 96% battery and the Montblanc is on 89%. So it looks like the battery-life on the Montblanc is going to fall well short of the Samsung. Also, (this may be more personal-taste), but the 'face' options on the Montblanc aren't great. The Samsung has more face options, and the Montblanc doesn't have a good face option that gives the time, date and power% in an easy to read layout. But at least some of the Montblanc faces have the word "Montblanc" on the face, so at least there's that. I'll be taking the Montblanc smartwatch back to the store.

devices that concern on processing power, speed, capacity or battery life go obsolete every couple of years. 5 years later the replacement battery might be even not available. some newer models which might be 2 times faster having 4 times more on capacity should have been available while maintaining nat same price. it is never wise to spend too spend too large sum of money on such fast obsoleting gadgets. for a smartwatch, i think us$500 is the max it can ask for

Next challenge for smart watch makers (other than Apple) is to get rid of those fake bezels (Samsung excepted being the S3 and new Gear use it for operating the watch UX) and do what the phone makers have done and extend the display to the edge.
Those lines around the edge of this otherwise nice watch mislead.

I'd Rather have the Exynos9110 within. The mongoose S2 (the cores specially made for Smartwatches, equals to A15 in preformance at 1 GHz) is FAR better than the SW3100

So the SD3100 and new optimization of WearOS is in theory WoW but in practice a CHIMERA. Understandable watching that is only a tweaked 28nm!!! SoC.

Less if some brand can improve that, WearOS watches will still being more of the same, daily charge and short life till you need to replace them. It's not worth it and less our money. I watch a Garmin 5 Plus series as a better options. But too expensive for now, perhaps in few months after being replaced by new models. Or wait till CES if due to some miracle a new SoC usable by WearOS appears and goes on the market.
