There is plenty of criticism over Samsung's poor cooling implementation much less you can't beat an external cooling fan accesory.

It has one of the best screens available, 60Hz is just perfect for mobile gaming. And if you get one with the Exynos version, you can underclock it to get more performance (you read that right) and install an optimised Custom Rom with r00t.
Combine that with a headset like a Pioneer HDJ1500, and a gamepad like the GameSir T1s.... then the S8+ can offer very good Android/Gamecube gaming, a strong contender against the ASUS RoG and Razer Phone2.

It only has 60hz refresh rate, has a bottom speaker that will get covered in gameplay and a reduced battery capacity. Not to mention it doesn't have the highest bin chipset or extra usb ports.

Joe Dickson, 24 Oct 2018Asus ROG is the only gaming phone worth buying.I don't see how someone, who (9 months earlier) in March, bought a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus would need to upgrade to the ASUS RoG Phone.
In fact, I would call them direct competitors... along with the Note9 in the mix, and maybe the Pocophone and iPhone maXS thrown in for some variety. So if you're a "gamer" you can definitely look at the S9+ as an alternative to the RoG today, seems childish to say otherwise.

Anonymous, 24 Oct 2018All because it "lacks the headphone jack" lolHaha. But yeah, a so-called gaming phone without a 3.5 mm jack to connect your gaming headphones is a serious drawback.
