It drives patches, overall ok updates. For major upgrades you need hardware improvement as well such as additional processing, sensors, AI coprocessor, better camera modules etc...it is pointless to keep upgrading OS. In any case Samsung offers most of the features in their Samsung Experience 9.0 that Android Pie offers.

Assistants are a bit redundant. It's probably quicker to just do whatever action you need done to urself. Google assistant is quite good for finding specific places to eat out

geewaiho, 03 Nov 2018I imagine they invested allot of time and money into bixby ... moreMajority of people does not ever use virtual assistant, and if you already hold your phone to press the button - you can do anything yourself while being at it. So a button dedicated to that was destined to be epic fail. However if they made it remapable it could be epic win... yet for some reason Samsung still wants to force users into using Bixby...

I bought note 8 - And wanted to sell immediately. It took long time almost 3 months to sell- happy back to iOS with iPhone X . Samsung’s apps are pathetic and childish

Saad, 31 Oct 2018Samsung will face the real competition from huawei, xiaomi,... moreS9 is already one of the most feature packed device, it no need Pie to run latest software, dont worry, Pie will come, it takes time to update to new OS, when you habe to port all the features and add extra functionality. It is not the same as to upgrade stock Android which is very light like other vendors use

As they started making phones by ODMs, it is expected to be Galaxies cheaper. A6s, I think the best value for money Samsung phone in recent years.

Νο wonder Asic mining is dying. Everyone and his dog find it obsolete. Most blockhain projects turn to Staking and/or Asic resistance. Asic mining was always a scam (it is actually a centralising force) and Samsung profited by having Bitcoin boom from a few billion industry to hundreds of billion industry. Asic miners everywhere are dying nobody buys more anymore, Samsung won't see as much memory sales anymore especially with ETH too killing Asics, time for Samsung to do sth actually useful.
...but I doubt it. They are always followers to markets. I think they would be out of ideas and profitable ventures soon.

The 2.2 billion $ in mobile sales doesn't make ANY SENSE.
If we take the average selling price of even as low as, say, 300$ , it gives a total of 7.3 million phones in 3 months which is impossibly low.
Samsung sells more than 70 millions phones in a single quarter.

Hmm, has Samsung become too diverse? Like, they literally make everything. Maybe that's causing this lower focus on smartphones. Seriously, I have high hopes for the S10. Hope they don't screw it up

I mean, my Note9 wasn't cheap and even the Chinese brands are selling 1,000 dollar phones now... The biggest drop for Samsung is most likely the lower mid-range models where they just can't/won't compete with the zero-margin Chinese models.
