The throttling feature hits iPhone X and iPhone 8 duo with iOS 12.1

While the 2017 models were not spared from the "performance management feature", their hardware should be less affected by it.

s-pen pusher, 01 Nov 2018i have an iphone x and it is enabled by default.Impossible. Ur statement doesn't make any sense. It only enables if the battery has degraded. This new feature displays the health of the battery. Only when battery has degraded over several years then it gets enabled. And then we have a choice to disable it. This only happens on iphone 6 and 5s at the moment as they are several years old and batteries are much weaker. But newer iphones will still have a healthy battery and this feature will stay disabled until the battery starts degrading in a few years time

As has been stated, this is an optional feature aimed at extending the usability of degrading batteries, that is all.

The truth as you call it is simply your opinion mixed with an apparent dash of pro android bias.

If that's applied when battery degrade to some 50-60% then thats OK, if thats is applied when battery degrade to 80% than that's not OK, because its 100% planned device obsolescence, i mean, device will suddenly start to shut down, if you want to avoid this, then your device is slowed down to maximum...

              1. The feature is there with a reason.
              2. It will extend lifespan of your device.
              3. You can turn it off if you want.

Shak23, 31 Oct 2018Lmfao speak for your self most andorid have qnovo battery m... moreYour mighty "qnovo" is nothing else than slowing down the charging speed at higher percentages, which Is exactly what every iPhone has always done. But either way, your battery will still degrade. And when it degraded to a level that it can't hold a charge when asked for power-hungry tasks, what do you do?
If you have an android phone, your phone crashes and you think its broke so you buy a new one.
If you have an iPhone and your iPhone doesn't crash because of this feature, but instead throttles, you call the support and they say you that you can change your battery for € 20.
So in the end, it's cheaper.
And it's like always, if you buy cheap, you buy twice.
You can either keep your iPhone 5s for 6 years and change your battery once, or you can buy the Galaxy S5, S7 and S9 and waste a ton of money to get the latest updates and have a working device by also loosing money on resale value when you sell your 2 year old S7 for € 150 on eBay after buying it for € 750 at release. Nice

And as always: If your battery is faulty, you should just change it. If you don't want to change it, you can always disable it. End of the story.
