What's Tecno? Tenth biggest seller in the world and GSM Arena doesn't have it even in 'all brands'. Nor ever mentioned it, as much as i know.

LG deserves to be in top 3. Their latest phones are amazing with the most features and cheaper than the rest. Also Sony deserves a higher place. HMD only copies , they don't innovate the way Nokia did.

eLeKtRoN, 02 Nov 2018Fastest growing HMD....The fastest growing start-up manufacturers are Xiaomi and 1+.
For Xiaomi, in just 7 years, they already became a world-class smartphone manufacturers.
A very excellent achievement as this company really did start from zero.
The next company, 1+, follow suit after Xiaomi to become the #2 fastest growing manufacturer.
Unlike Xiaomi, 1+ actually ride on the success of Oppo & Vivo, who became so famous in South East Asia & India thanks to their aggressive advertising.
That's why not many people surprised that 1+ would also be famous like its sister companies.
HMD, on the other hand, take advantage of human phychological weakness: nostalgia.
AFAIK, Nokia phones which TONS of people said "durable as brick" was only applied to "dumb", thick feature phone (with VERY LIMITED feature to boot, unlike SE which introduced good & great feature phones with many features).
I did have several Nokia "smart" & "dumb" phones; Nokia 3650, 3660, 6600, 5610 XM, Asha 200, 5800 XM. From what I experienced, I really regretted buying most of them, because I, too, once a victim of "durable as brick" BS propaganda. Nokia phones did, if u r lucky enough, last longer than other phones, but NOT REALLY for most of the time.
The "zombie" Nokia bought by HMD did the same thing; made an "overpriced" PoS and sold it at high price tag to make it look like a "premium" phone; similar strategy Apple has used for straight 10+ years.
You will realize that, as time goes by, the only advantage Nokia offers to customers, timely updates & major updates will slow down, as their portfolio grows. This is what actually happens to 1+; even with their small portfolio, the OS developer couldn't keep up with the updates, let alone major updates.

Huawei copy cat, 02 Nov 2018The 2nd the most copy cat sold many of their cheap notch ph... morePeople won't give a damn if Huawei is a copycat or not as long as their phone remains affordable and specs wise they are good. Its the internet trolls like you who keeps bitching about it. Get over with it. Accept the fact that they're slowly leading the smartphone market. Ofc they have much to improve just like every establiahed brand. Samsung and Apple are not perfect either.

its about time new phones get cheaper , yes cheap phones are getting good but thats due to technology improvements ....phones havebeen getting more expensive due to market kept increasing and also demand , but now its declining so OEMs better go the cheaper way to increase the market not the more expensive way to keep the profits like apple.....but i guess its opvious which way all OEMs will go ....like what happened with the notch all follow apple business strategy

Huawei have upped their game hugely. I'm no fan of their imaging, I think their portrait game is particularly poor, and their video is not great. But, they offer a huge battery and a good screen, with high RAM. Although I don't like their camera game, they are certainly good enough to sell. What we forget here, is that we are not the majority of buyers. Our habits do not reflect typical buying habits. Walk in to a brick and mortar store, and see how the majority does their purchasing. They are steered to whichever device the store wants to push, I know this as I spend an embarrassingly huge amount of time in them. I listen to what the sales people are doing, and I assure you that most buyers know little or nothing about the device they are buying. In my experience, most Apple buyers just want an Apple phone to upgrade to. For Android buyers, they really do get walked to a device of the storepersons choosing. I have had staff tell me and others a ton of fibs, just to close a sale. They really do sell on the basis of things likely quantity of cameras, with little regard to quality. Mega pixels too, to them, bigger is better. In my experience, the store staff love selling Huawei, and are no doubt highly incentivised to do so. No surprise to me that they have done so well.

A bit fake news. Huawei is counted as both Huawei and Honor brands, yet BBK is always separated (OPPO + Vivo + OnePlus + RealMe). In reality, BBK is 2nd largest for over a year, and they are coming closer and closer to Samsung each quarter.
