Quad-core Exynos 4412 chipset revealed in kernel patch

21 November, 2011
It should pack four Cortex-A9 cores running at 1.5GHz. It's not the rumored Galaxy S III chipset, though.

if you look on pc benchmarks there is a tab saying cpu technologie-x nm,now the average number for pcs is 45,exynos has 32,a quad architecture means real pc power and less battery usage.Or else shiny smooth os and software on a 1080p or more res screen and goodbuye apple fashion...

So many comments and nobody cared if they would actually need a quad-core in their phones.
Well... to tell the truth not all need Intel i5 processors, but in a PC and it's kinda obvious. But in a tablet/smartphone for me this is a giant flop!
OK, you could connect a BT KB and mouse and play Crysis 5 via HDMI on it. :D

Bill, 22 Nov 2011Buddy, times change, especially the Phone industry since 20... moreTimes change we know that...OS and softwares' FULL HW optimizations hasn't...by much. If anything we're getting shittier codes, "packaged" by so-called OFFICIAL stances that things will get "regular update" intervals when it's really no more a beta product with promised patches. That was the point from our buddy my friend. It's the same fundamentals' debate carried over from PC's multicore computing and x86 vs. AMD64 bits. It's ongoing for a good reason. Too much firepower on smaller calibers so to speak.

No one's crying foul about chipmakers' ability to beat or meet Moore's law. We just wish that the point in doing that would be well met by the necessary and practically useful lines of code. That's all and I think that's a fair expectation. Wasting BILLIONs on chip R&D just for the heck of making the numbers resulted in...e.g:- Intel Atoms. The thing can barely run Win 7 Ultimate 32 w/o breaking into tears. Pop any desktop Linux distro on it and voila all of a sudden things are way way faster? Something's wrong there for sure...

For another example, I just discovered that there's barely TWO iinm (yes the quantity 2) media player apps in Android Market with HW acceleration + multicore support. That should paint you a picture.

Oh and about PCs? Aside from 1 or 2 very very HW spec demanding games just to move more pixels (and that's assuming those titles are for everyone?), what's the massively critical number of practical applications available today that the average user can take notice of?

In terms of batter power/consumption, the following article will definitely make us happy. A new technology/modification to the Li-Ion battery; allowing up to 10 times its charge.

Again a very powerful and a great innovation even at 1.5ghz it will compete with higher coreeeasily!! but still they say this is not the tech fr gs3 it wil get the smart big LITTLE innovation which will switch between high and low cores respectively samsung will rule 2012 too!!!
