Grats and first phone with Pie wil be released in 2020 :-)

Dilmeet, 06 Nov 2018The time taken is really poor but at the same time, it all ... moreIt BS to say if you want stock OS buy Apple. There are plenty of Phones with close to stock Android and Pixel devices are stock. Motorola, Nokia and Oneplus are close to stock Android.
I think you lost the point. My and many people's problem is, that we pay a huge amount of money, we ret a device with newest OS on it but for the next update we have to wait monthes. in 2 Years we get almost no more update on our devices. They have to move their lazy A$$es and push a bit more money in their DEV team to give us much faster updates and more stable devices.

All Samsung is doing is announcing.
Unseen battery degradation in S9/S9+, TONs of non-removable bloatware, no international warranty for flagship devices, retarded bixby and slow af software update. Come on Samsung! Finally start delivering something!

Dilmeet, 06 Nov 2018If price tag and updates is the consideration, Pixel or App... moreThat's true.
I currently have an iPhone and I'm satisfied with it. Hardware wise, Samsung is awesome, but their software game is lagging.

I'm sure Samsung will roll out Android P after august 2019 to their old devices S 8 and onward same as every year they did :(

Realistic1, 06 Nov 2018Samsung has always lagged behing everyone else with updates... moreIf price tag and updates is the consideration, Pixel or Apple will serve you best. If you do a more broader comparison, you can find a better device suited to your needs.
In the end, nothing is perfect no matter what you pay for.

Dr. Chillo, 06 Nov 2018It's really sad to see Giants like Samsung needs monthes to... moreThe time taken is really poor but at the same time, it all depends on what you need.
If faster OS updates no matter what, buy any stock android phone from OEMs with a good enough past record.
If opting for Samsung and other custom UI devices, why bother for OS updates so much? Security updates should be the focus.
Custom UI has built in features which have to be downloaded on stock or implemented in next OS upgrade!
If you need update and pure OS, buy Apple!
Android gives you freedom to choose but sadly, no best of both worlds device.

OnePlus is the closest I think in terms of updates, features and stock OS look.

Samsung has always lagged behing everyone else with updates.
Considering price tag of their flagships it's really sad.

Typing on a Xiaomi runing official Pie.

It's really sad to see Giants like Samsung needs monthes to manage to roll out OS updates. they could start working on beta as soon as Google released beta. It's really sad and unacceptable to pay 1000Bucks and still wait monthes to get security and OS base updates.
