Lol it just somehow managed to beat the i7 with 2k benchmark power more in multi core.. but in single core i7 shines.. and yes gsm competed it with all smartphones processors.. you might be forgotten the i9 or amd reyzan t, which has smashed the bionic X.. get your facts right..

Also, it was already said that the new ipad does not support any external storage - Apple aren't stupid, they want people to buy the way more expensive options. 64GB is nothing this days.

      This means that I'll have to buy at least the 256GB version, which is like $1300 outside the US. Now that costs about what my laptop costs, which has a 512GB SSD, a 1TB HDD, a mechanical keyboard, a 17.3" display with 90hz refresh rate, 16GB RAM, etc. And yeah, the i7 in my laptop is about 20% slower in multi-core performance, but I have 400% more RAM and a 400% more powerful graphics card. Hell, even the graphics card in my laptop has more RAM than the new ipad.

      So excuse me if I'm a little biased towards something that has 20% more powerful cpu and is way behind in everything else, but will cost me the same. And the cpu is not important for most people, the cpus in my desktop rig and in my laptop rarely go above 50%. It matters only if you're doing some serious processing like editing 4k videos and stuff professionally, but most people don't.

      I like my ipad pro, but for browsing the web, watching movies and playing mobile games, I will never be able to either work on it or play the games I want on it.

Intel was scamming her consumers for years, it is finally catching up with her and I for one enjoy it very much. In 2-3 years it would be clear that the iPad is the most powerful device for mobile computing (it already is but old habits die hard, people still like old looking computers).

          The storage is plenty expandable. As long as the app supports it you can attach an external disk, voila. You don't need more than 64GB for your OS disk.

          Apple is producing 4 times the hardware of Samsung's offering (which goes for $600 BTW) and haters still call it expensive. If Apple was serious the should had priced it as the high end surface pro, because it is the only with comparable hardware.

          A12x means that get 14 hour (real use) battery and export times that only i9 can surpass. If one photosophs, pains, makes and exports music. Heck even do huge excel files this device would eat every other in this price range for launch.

          You have to go twice as expensive to get similar performance. You let your hate blind you.

That' not cheap for 64gb of nonexpendable storage, not to mention the price difference with the more expensive models. That's like saying the iphone xr is cheap when outside USA the cheapest version costs 1000+ bucks not 750. If you don't know that US population comprises 4% of the world population and even in the USA less than 10% of the population will buy the new Apple products. And I guarantee you that if the prices in the US were similar to there rest of the world Apple would be in a very big trouble financially.
            Selling expensive products makes you a reach company even if you have a lot less sales than the other manufacturers, so in reality when you do the math less than 1% of the population of the world are going to buy the new apple iphones and ipads, so tell me how is this going to kill Intel exactly?

            As I said people will still not buy apple products because of the price. If everyone in the world had a current gen $1000+ laptop, the numbers Apple quoted would have been completely different coz let's be honest, they are comparing the new ipads to what most people have - cheap several year old laptops. That's like saying a current gen Android smartphone is more powerful than 90% of the smartphones - that will be the completely truth coz most people don't have an iphone x and above or an Android flagship with sd845 or kirin 980.

            I'm not a hater just stating what everyone knows.

                  For that price its no shame its so fast.
                  But for that price it also could boast a lot more things.
                  But there is always a question.
                  Do we need such fast device???
                  And how longit will last apple is well known for throttling and even a super fast devices are worse than average after a year of use.

Yes, Apple SoC is the best right now and yes, and its design is quite good, but Apple has a lot of hiccups in its product. Just stay on fact, and don't be blinded by a company

                        And its raw power performance peaks a bit above what the Xbox One can deliver.

                        It's a totally different and new technology developed by Apple, which is in a league of its own. The only ones who can compete with Apple is Apple themselves. For there is no other company out there spending so much money, resources, and engineer/design time like Apple does. Everyone else just prefers to go the easy way, as in copying a design from Apple and making a few changes to it in order to avoid copyright claims. But they cut a lot of corners, thus their products are always of lower quality than the original. That's what reverse-engineered products are like: lwoer grade.

                              a12x cpu can't replace intel cpu on Macbooks, as both of the cpu runs on a totally different architecture. ARM cpus runs on Reduced Instruction Set while most of intel x86 cpus run on CISC which is totally a different architecture.

But to ra... moreHuh, didn't you watch the launch event - they specifically talked about the gpu and said the new ipads match the performance of an xbox one s. They had even invited the VP of 2K Games to advertise the "console quality" of the new NBA 2k19 version for the ipad pro. Honestly, the game looked good for a mobile game, but was obviously just a more graphically improved version of the mobile game rather than a port of the pc game, but that was to be expected as the pc version is 100GB and quite taxing even on dedicated graphics cards.

                                        Man, Apple are in a league of their own when it comes to benchmarks.
                                        Just depends on whether you like their software or not.
