ME, 08 Nov 2018Disappointing.... shame samsung for this news. I hate notch... moreIf you read past the headline you'll notice they did show a completely bezel and notch free template too. The notches and dots are for the J and A models. The flagships will keep steering clear of compromises.

SpiritWolf, 08 Nov 2018Good luck with your 200 mAh batteries and 2mm 1/8" sensor c... moreBattery design evolves all the time. Ten years ago phones and batteries were roughly the same size but back then 1500 mAh was pretty big. Let's not talk about the 90s or the 80s.... :)

Every day is a terrible day for notch haters. Their anger towards things that isnt their problem is strong, its not healthy to hate things for no reason when they dont even have it on their own devices. Its like hating your neighbor for having a fat wife, why would we even care?
I bet a billion that most notch haters are single guys in their early 30ies with bad economy, self loathing and with nothing to be happy about.

As long as those hideous notches stay far away from the note10, i'm good. Won't be buying any of those notched flagships ever.

Old design smartphone was the best. 16:9 display, front finger print sensor, 3.5 mm jack, Normal camera position, Normal ear piece, Even the bezels helped a lot to hold the phone. But After iPhonex launch, everything is now changed. Wierd Notch, Underscreen Sensor, Camera, Can't even grip the phone vertically, Higher repair cost, 3.5 jack missing. Ugly Ugly..

Anonymous, 08 Nov 2018Had to, lose sales each year. Xiaomi and Huawei saw the big... moreNope. Its not because of the removal of 3.5mm or the new notch. The other vendors increased the average peice while xiaomi is giving the same phone for 60% of the price. And Huawei has a bucket load of phones in the market. Every segment and spent big money on advertising. That is why they are selling more. Notch is futuristic but fugly and 3.5mm is very important to have.

Well, we can expect S10 to be a lot different from S8 and S9... and lots of people to complain about notch. Or Samsung will use hidden and/or motorized cameras like Oppo, Xiaomi...?

Cassy O, 08 Nov 2018Infinity U/V for Galaxy J Infinity O for Galaxy A New Inf... moreThat would be wise of Samsung. They've mocked the notch too much in their ads. If they put the notch on their flagships... They'll get ridiculed.

Samsung designed these for those who keep complaining that there was no change in design language from S8 to S9.

Gusta, 08 Nov 2018Let's hope Meizu still keeping no notch design and 3.5mm ja... moreMeizu is dying for a reason. Keeps features that noone wants or likes (apart from a tiny minority).
Meizu's bezel makes it look really harsh. No wonder it is the only Chinese company that saw no growth. Terrible style.
Basically see what conservative people like (tech site enthusiasts) and do the opposite. The world is about continuous progress, not being stuck in old non-working ways.

Whackcar, 08 Nov 2018Teehee. I said it. First the notch. Then the removal of hea... moreHad to, lose sales each year. Xiaomi and Huawei saw the biggest increase in sales ever since they killed the 3.5mm jack and added a notch.
Basically those two features (3.5mm jack and upper bezel) are cryptonite to sales. Make your phone look ancient. So the old design is finally dying , even within Samsung headquarters.

ME, 08 Nov 2018Disappointing.... shame samsung for this news. I hate notch... moreLet's hope Meizu still keeping no notch design and 3.5mm jack on their flagship. The problem of Meizu is their ability to provide the stock for the buyer because they are not big company. That will affect the aftersale and warranty service.

Lol, Samsung wisens up. Understand that wasted space *is*... wasted space
Let the fanboy wailing ensure. Once wrong, always wrong (the fanboys I mean).
Good thing for Samsung though. Her phones looked positively ancient and unweildly due to the extra height that her love of bezels made them have. They seem to learn though, and not listen to fanboys that may drive her to the ground.
In fact one great way to make money / stop losing sales is to come in tech sites (like this one), see what people whine about and implement that feature exactly.
Ever since Huawei and Xiaomi killed the 3.5mm jack and added a notch went to the moon sales wise. Samsung wants to follow by making fanboys squeal and thus gain sales by normal people.

That's just my speculation.
