09 November 2018
The agreement still doesn’t include products that might directly compete with Amazon’s offerings.

Xypleth, 28 Nov 2018I feel Your point, there isn't much value in old technology... moreWell yes you can.
But as i said phone gets outdated in 2-3 years thus a midranger for 400 will be fast enough.
No point to have a 1000+ phone which you would like to sell after 2-3 years to get something new.
And you will be surprised if its actual price of your used phone will be maybe 150 or less in euros.
For that midranger is good enough.
I can confirm from my Moto X4 with SD630 is almost as fast in opening apps as Note 8 owned by brother of my girlfriend.
And we speaking about a phone with SD835.
If a game loads just 1 second slower or maybe 2 but then its fast as oon Note 8 there is no point of having a 1000 euros phone.

AnonD-731363, 23 Nov 2018Well i can understand how you feel but for me i mean in my ... moreI feel Your point, there isn't much value in old technology, anymore. There might be some devices which are valued highly years from now, but not worth the effort, unless it's a hobby.

As much as I understand Your ideals, if it even slightly bothers You, the little extra touches make up for a much better overall experience, it might not be for everyone, who need just good screen, above average battery, and fast app opening. The extra attention to software stability, animations, haptic feedback, good microphone input (not the 2XL's strong part, but miles better than OP3T to me), nice set of speakers, camera which you can rely on...

But it's as everything, subjective. If You're ready to sacrifice phone speed and a bit more money, I think it's a well worthwhile investment for a device You'll be using for 1-3 years, or maybe even more.

AnonD-731363, 20 Nov 2018Well man here in Slovakia is the same. Most of our custom... moreThey do the same tricks, yes. But it's the hardware that worries me. For example, when I bought OnePlus 3T, later on I bought an S8 (for the same price as I bought 3T), for my relative.
In terms of hardware, it's miles better, superb microphone/speaker/camera/wi-fi connectivity. The only real drawback is the Samsung's software, otherwise Samsung is the pure leader in hardware. And You can get the phone's for the same low price as the Chinese one's.

But the software is bad, it my testing, only in terms of Speed and Lag from the bloatware and Samsung's ugly skins, it doesn't have the small bugs that You might run into, and which the Chinese companies won't fix until the whole internet is outraged.

If I were not sensitive to ugly UI design (subjective), occasional lagging from the UI, not installing custom ROM's, then I'd be all over Samsung phones.

Most of our customers also people outside for example those who i see in bus when i go to or from work which takes good hour of time carry Samsung or apple.
Brand new S9 here costed 899 euros and now in a Samsung Store cost 449 euros.
But big fun is S8 cost 799 euros.
          Christmas deal LOL.

But as i said those chinese midrangers are great enough.
No need to pay 1000 euros for a phone if the 400 euros one does the same tricks.

AnonD-731363, 19 Nov 2018Well is you are satisfied with Pixel what else i can say. ... moreI bought it for 600. Granted last years specs, if I wanted more bang for buck, to sacrifice the beautiful Google UI, then I'd go for Samsung, which I can get for 500$.
Oneplus seemed like a beautiful lie, after I got it, it was the best on all the hardware specs, and people were hyping a lot for it. But in reality it fails to include a lot of quality components.

In my country Samsung is dominating, and for a good reason, they drop their flagship prices to 1/2 the price ~6 months after release. But I'd never buy it, as long as they lag and bloat as they do now.

I wouldnt buy that for sure for my self.
Last 10 years i had 4 chinese phones and i was very satisfied with them.
I had a phone from Huawei then another one Y5 if i remember exactly. Then Lenovo Vibeshot which i had for like 3 years and now carrying from first day of possible buy Moto X4.
For me spending more than 400 for a phone is out of discussion because a 400 eur midranger does same trick as a 1000 euros phone.
It can run any game smoothly, it can do multitasking have god enough camera. Good enough battery optimized OS and endurance.
No need to buy a 1000 eur phone.

AnonD-731363, 16 Nov 2018Well man. If i were you pixel is the last of android line i... moreI just got it, it's amazingly responsive. I don't get how many people don't mention this. It's almost if not just as responsive as iPhone. Scrolling experience is miles better, that alone is worth over, say, OnePlus 6T to me. The software is really simple, no gimmick, just right experience, to me. I used to have 3T and was never quite satisfied, and I had to fiddle with the settings all the time to make the apps work properly, not kill get killed etc.

No more a faster Snapdragon will sell me a new phone anymore, it's all about responsive and good looking, balanced, UI.

There is tech people don't talk about, like ambient sensors, they work brilliantly on this phone, smooth and always how I want. Haptic feedback, I can finally know when I receive a message, and type with satisfying and quiet feedback. Display touch panel, it's what I mentioned before, it's not just the tech, it's also the optimization very much, which is why a phone that can do this, shows that it has been well polished.

AnonD-731363, 16 Nov 2018Well man. If i were you pixel is the last of android line i... moreI used to put specs above everything. But after 2 years my OnePlus 3T's performance was still great, which couldn't have been said about any previous phone's I've owned. However the software and the little hardware like microphones, vibration motor, speakers... was total garbage.

I think Pixel is the only phone to deliver that. It's either a "cheap" chinese phone with big specs. Big specs with lagwiz bloat. Apple that does only what it wants. Sony that puts good tech and forgets about software, same for LG.
I had no other choice, when I look at it like that.

And what a choice it is, if I don't experience any of the hardware problems, then I'm gold.

But its your choice so i dont care.

AnonD-731363, 15 Nov 2018Man you named nothing you just compared apple to android an... moreBasically, yes. To be fair, I haven't personally ever owned an iPhone. I've only used it because most of my relatives and friends have iPhone's. So I guess I can't be a judge.

What I can say, they would mess everything up, if it was an Android, because You have to know more about what You're doing, to keep it healthy and well functioning. And even being as careful, as I am, I still run into issues of battery drains (not a bug, but a badly developed apps background resource), but sometimes it was caused by system for my OnePlus3T, I had serious major call issues on LG G4, I couldn't receive calls.

When an iPhone problem arises, it's quickly covered by media, so it's easy to mistake it for being on all phones, and very often, while in reality these issues happen often for Androids, and often enough don't even get fixed. But it's just a speculation based on my experience, I do not have proof.

Despite everything, I'm currently about to get Pixel 2 XL, hoping that I won't run into issues, and the most major one's have been fixed, and been over-exposed, fueled by competing company sponsorship against Pixel phones. No iPhone because many of its flaws are considered as "features", and Google Pixel seems to combine everything, that I expect of a smartphone, in one package.

Yes, major bugs are not as common in Android, there are however many micro bugs, never to be fixed. But I'm sure iPhones have them as well.

If they have less, it's because their OS is so "simple", that it's easier to manage, but in result you're frustrated to navigate through the setting menus, instead of having bugs, which in a way is kinda like a bug itself.

But nothing is more frustrating, that something not working, iPhone succeeds more at working reliably. Which is what I miss on Android, but it's not enough for me to pay so much for their phones.
