AnonD-2663, 24 Nov 2011I wouldn't pay $750 for this, nor would I pay $799 for a 16... moreRemember, what you're paying for is the R&D, programming and other IP, not just the parts. Parts only would be around 200-300US$. In addition, computers sell a lot more so intel (and partners) can spread the costs over a larger number of devices, not to mention the fact that that laptops and desktops are easier to engineer compared to phones.

@ The guy from Belgium.
True story. Up here in Sweden it retails for quite a massive price tag, nearly 800 dollars aswell, and I'm not complaining. Have in mind that we do not have an LTE-network yet like in the states which means it should be even cheaper in Sweden but that is not the case. Im getting it however.

That's cheap. The unlocked Galaxy Nexus is going for $876 from Expansys South Africa. An unlocked 16GB Iphone 4s goes for $1156 from the same company. These prices are pure insanity.

You call 749 USD expensive? In Belgium it costs 609 € (817 USD) unlocked.
