single means poor to a large extent.
oneplus/honor/xiaomi is made for poor people, who care about the price value things.
Rich people blindly choose apple/samsung/huawei.

Either way, I've known singles day for several years now and I hope it remains contained to China only. The rest of us need Remembrance Day weather we know it or not.

China is very materialistic and lots of men cant get a desirable GF because of their insufficient personal finances. China is the last place on earth girls dont pretend to not be materialistic and to counter this single guys has this one day when they can pretend they are not bitter, they pretend they are proud to be single. Choosing 11.11 as the day was meant as a kindof "pun", boring puns being the universal trademark of single men and one of the ways they manage to stay single.

Also on this November 11th we also had father's day and I got a wonderful card from my two year old son

Makes sense, its a phone brand loved by single android users, you know those guys who always insist on explaining WHY things are better their way, ending up talking way too much and therefore never getting a GF. OnePlus, Honor and Xiaomi owners are the most notable ones.

Everyone knows Nov 11 is remembrance day, the day when The Great War ended (WWI).
It isn't to glorify war, or soldiers, or their leaders. It's to remember the mistakes and misunderstandings they experienced, and hopefully inspire the next generation and the next one and so and so forth, that they hopefully learn from mistakes of past.
Remembrance Day is universal in all nations. To twist it for something this stupid really is dumb. What, they couldn't choose January 1st, because that's an even lonelier number... were the Chinese discouraged that its too close to New Years Celebration?!?!

These days there is a day for everything. It's kind of ridiculous when you see the list of these days. In the coming years, we might see things like "Brake up day", "Cheater's day", "Polygamy day". lol
