Don Hrle, 16 Nov 2018Exactly....Huawei needs to sell us something so they add gi... morehave you read actual reviews of the 980 chipset... its the most efficient chip out right now. the s8150 score youre seeing is on a test device. i promise you, you wont see those scores on a phone. the test device always has higher clock speeds than the final product. secondly the cpu side of the 980 will beat the exynos chipset hands down. the gpu arent comparable because antutu doesnt use gpu tubro and thats what the 980 realises on. the exynos chip will have two more shader cores than the 980

S9+, is still slightly cheaper than iPhone 8 though with better overall hardware (Camera, speaker, display, etc)...
Anyhow, we can't deny that the best value right now is a Snapdragon 845 phone, The Mi Pocophone. Pricing way below segment average.
And yes, it has its demerits too, still... it proves we're paying too much for chipsets alone.

This is very likely to be geared towards laptops as well, with some higher clock speeds perhaps. That GPU is whopping 5.1 times faster than my SD660. 120Hz screen might be fully utilized soon.

Now that is interesting
really looking forward to see better ARM powered laptops(it would be quite good for daily use not heavy usage) which also would benefit customers and want to see what Intel would do in responds.

BosOtter, 16 Nov 2018Who cares if they were the first. 980, latest and "greatest... moreExactly....Huawei needs to sell us something so they add gimmicks....last year they bombarded us with NPU(AI) bs during launch, then with GPU Turbo(we'll downgrade details so u don't have to in order to play properly) when planet discovered that NON-AI phones with SD845 wipe the floor with it in almost every aspect of phone use.

I wonder how many cooling fans Qualcomm had pointing at the chipset to get those results. I bet real life performance will be lower from oems downclocking the frequency

Or if you just browse the web or facebook or instagram I just mentioned snapchat as an example. My point is that if you dont run heavy apps like idk premiere or something like that the difference isnt that much of a deal they shoukd focus on software more I mean my friend had an iP8 lost it bought a second hand iP7 that was on the latest iOS which promised improved performance he doesnt notice a difference I mean yeah there obviously are differences in terms of power and its exciting to see how far they can go but I think it would be better to make the chips even more power efficient and focus more on the user experience
