All I want to see for Moto Z family is more mods. I was sad to hear that the Livermorium Keyboard Mod was dead, there's so much potential to it and the moto mods itself.

Sanny, 20 Nov 2018I really don't understand all the hate towards camera hump.... moreIf the camera hump is because of large sensor like the Nokia 808 PureView and the Nokia Lumia 1020, I would be more than happy to accept it knowing that it would make a stellar photo.

I really don't understand all the hate towards camera hump. I liked it on my moto z and it made the rest of the phone look even slimer. Moto phones look much better in the hand than on the pictures.

Kangal, 20 Nov 2018Nah.
Better to have a small battery, so it allows hot-swap... moreYou do not need a 'real' battery to do hot-swaps, only something that last say 10-20 seconds, it could even pause everything and turn the display off. I guess even a capacitor could be enough for that.

Launched it unlocked globally with that 5G MotoMod.
But 4/32 RAM/RAM !? even my grandma won't be amused.

Mods doesn't let you protect your phone properly with comfortable cases. Case manufacturers are not going to design one for each model. Imposible and not profitable with the small bite of the market that Motorola has. People prefer a standard shape that let them protect it without the use of bags, and external things. The mods have their niche, no doubt, but too small to be worthwhile. If it were really so attractive, Motorola would sell them as much as cookies, but it's not like that. At CES we'll probably watch the Z4.

EskeRahn, 20 Nov 2018....I would find it better to have the battery removed from... moreI agree... the decision to keep the battery quite small and use Motomods for extended battery was the right descision... though all mods should come with built in battery.
The worst decision in my mind, except for killing the Qwerty (although it had some weak spots), was not having a camera cut-out of the Camera Moto Mod.
And I would really like to see them do a stereoscopic camera Mod, using two modules for extending the wide angle, instead of a ultra-wide angle set-up with much worse specs than the main module (the way everyone solves it these days). At the same time enabling stereoscopic images, for use with VR...
and they should probably make a compatible VR headset, that would work even with that mod connected, so it can do instant switch-over to Sterescopic view of the outside world. Mostly as a proof of concept to begin with... I don't expect the Z4 to come with 4K+ screen at 120Hz or higher update frequency.

Hopefully, they learned how to create a better overall experience, with stereo speakers, better camera, returning the headphone jack. If not, it will flop

Small battery to encourage you buy the mod battery... or the 5G one, plus the ugly humongous cylinder camera bump still there... Another year, same history. The Z series of Motolienovo is like the Groundhog Day, always stumbles on the same stone.

EskeRahn, 20 Nov 2018....I would find it better to have the battery removed from... moreNah.
Better to have a small battery, so it allows hot-swapping. And something small enough to get you through (at least) 1-day, such as: 2,500mAh battery on a 5mm device, then slip it into a MotoMod that increases bulk to 9mm and adds another 2,500mAh battery for 3-day battery life.

It would be smart with a slim light battery for the dinner jacket, and a huge one for the occasional hike, and something in between could suit daily use...
Personally I would love a pack with a landscape QWERTY slider, other might want other options. But if the module is kept over generation, we could buy new devices, and keep using our small user group extensions.
Many years ago it was not uncommon with phones with different battery sizes offered.
I remember my Samsung S300, where I had three different sized batteries

Sushant Sic, 20 Nov 2018Moto should stop making the thinner Phone with smaller Batt... moreI do not agree. The IDEA of a slim base device that you can easily slip into the dinner jacket, and then extend is good.
The thought is that the user can
a) add a bigger battery for more intensive usage.
b) extend with various Mods to support the wishes of smaller user groups not big enough to make a complete device profitable.
The problem with the Z-series is that they on one hand went very ambitious with it not only being battery options, and on the other hand failed to be supportive even for the winners of their own contest for making Mods... This made this projects fail, and thus killing the incentive to buy into the project for many potential buyers.
I for one, for 1½ year awaited the QWERTY slider Mod, and luckily waited to buy a Z-device until I actually would have the Mod in my hands, but the developer finally gave up (and offered full refunds!), and started an independent project instead,

Hoping it will be a fullscreen device with under display fingerprint reader.
Z3 shrunk the bezels a lot in it's 18:9 aspect, Z4 can hopefully eliminate them if going to 19.5:9.
Z3's length and width is very close to Mi Mix 3 and Lenovo Z5 pro, so it should be possible.

Moto should stop making the thinner Phone with smaller Battery... They should provide Bigger Battery instead... No one loves to pay extra money over Mods to be honest...
