A kal el (Tegra 3) would have been nice. But by all means this looks like an amazing phone. 1.2Ghz is plenty, providing it has a half decent GPU to back it (no doubt it will). Still trying to decide between this and HTC edge though, but I'm thinking this.

at this rate some day we're gonna have
200 core processor and a micro nuclear plant to power the mobile.

people are mad to "want more" without using 10% of the power...

It should be noted that processor speed is not everything just like in computers. one might have a very fast processor but when compared to another computer with a slower speed but with better other components it will beat the one with faster processor.
I've learned this the hard way. So this 1.2 might even beat the 1.5 or higher processors. The motherboard and other stuff in phones will also be considered before you can say that it is really slow. just wait for the review

1.2 Ghz is enaugh. What more do you want? Remember, it's a phone not a PC or tablet.

The processor isn't the dissapointment but the OS totally is!! Droids have always been a step behind in terms of specs and that has certainly been dissapointing to me, since i like a lot the qwerty keyboard but it's really hard to find one on a good spec'd phone. A month after I got my nexus one I was hating the typing and was waiting for the moment to change it for a qwertyed one, sadly the solution was a well spec'd android tablet where virtual keyboard is comfortable. I'm guessing I'll have to get a BB

It's intelligently acknowledging that processing power isn't everything. Battery life, compact form factor and non-extortionate prices are more important to me.

Your on a techblog, a PHONEBLOG where change happens every few weeks with new innovations. Whilst people are entitled to thier opinions and while software stability issues will need to be improved along with battery life, this won't be an impossible feat. What is impossible however is that phones will never ever take a step back to the startac era which reading a some people's comments, wish it still was. Fortunately they are a very.tiny minority and the industry has and always will be built for tomorrow and never for yesterday. In a few years time, feature phones will have a minimal requirement spec of the HTC desire hd and will be on par with most windows phones, 1ghz processors on single or dual cores

Anonymous, 27 Nov 2011wow dude, how is 1.2 GHz dualcore obsolete ? Are you going ... moreWhy is it a sin to ask for more power and progression? We live in an age that your phone works beyond it's own form factor with features like HDMI and bluetooth and USB etc, if you had a multicore phone with enough memory and a developed OS, there is no reason why it shouldn't be able to replace your home PC or any jack of all trades media device for that matter.

I don't understand why you think that a 1.2Gh dual core is obsolete this is a phone it's not a computer. What are going to doo with a higher processor? Try and run Crysis on the phone yeah have fun while it's melting in your hands. And not to mention the battery power needet to power it.
