Samsung s10 will succeed if they make them all 5g leap frog the rest ...And you will lead the way

Just make a Smartphone that can Solely solve 3 problems and you will have a Winner:
    1. Class leafing camera. Beat the Pixel 3 with the right kind of photography:
    A. IBIS kind of image stabilisation with upto 1 second shutter ALONG with Composite Image merging.
    B. Wayyyyy more photo stacking for all sorts of HDR, meaning it should have a pre-burst of Atleast 10 photos, before the shuttwr is pressed.
    C. Sensors and NPEs in the ISP for everything from white balance and colour accuracy, to light levels to nature if subject etc.
    D. Even faster sensor (120fps at Full Res?), along with much higher DRAM to ensure there are a LOT more photos to work with. Maybe dual circuitry in the sensor, similar yondual exposure to ensure that it is reading two images simultaneously.
    E. 5x Zoom on the photo with the equivalent of 12MP Smartphone Camera.
    F. 10-bit Photo and Video Option for times when u may need it. Or 10bit/ 8-bit 4-2-2 video and 14 stop dynamic range photo for eveb better dynamic range. If they could incorporate HEIF photos, it would be superb. And HDR in video too. Preferably in HLG or some other Log Mode option.

    2. All Day Battery life meaning 8 hours of internet or video along with quick charge and super power saving mode.

    3. Even better processor than already exists. For where you need to shoot like an hour of 4k. Or edit a video on your phone.

The body need a some oomph. Like something that creates optical illusions regarding the shape and something that isn't a fingerprint magnet.

And MOST important: Samsung needs to have a Fully Open API for developers to be able to work on photo and video apps without restrictions on frame size or frame rate.

You guys have the best hardware in the business but one of the worst software. Your version of android is full of bloatware which eats the battery and gives overall a slower user experience. Improve the software.

Samsung, if you give me high-end phone featuring display with NO curved edges, NO rounded corners, NO notch and NO cutout I will purchase it immediately. Except for iPhone 8 Plus there are no good phones in that category. This is a market opportunity most vendors missed. Many users would prefer such display.

It will succeeded dependant on pricing and what the S10 can offer in comparison to other flagships. Let's hope Samsung brings it next year which I'm certain they will. This year was Huawei year so I'm sure samsung are feeling the pressure which is good, force's them to innovate and not be complacent.

The mobile phones market is just between android and OIS, however, android's slice of the pie is divided up among so many OEMs,this is why so many phone makers is finding it hard to survive....

To be honest, people don't want to pay £1000\$\€ every 12 months for an iterative model, in my view the note and S lines are to blurred, they used to be very different devices for very different people, now the only real thing that separates them is a little bit of software and the pen, other then that they look similar, they have similar software except the odd bit of note enabled apps, they have very similar screen sizes, the lines needs merging and retaining the pen, they need a new killer device with all the latest and greatest tried and tested useful features, and some new things on board, it should also be priced fairly, I'm all for a premium fold up phone which is unique and I'm willing to pay the money if its good enough, but I u just roll out another device that looks similar to last years and a different line, and all that's gone into it is a faster processor and some software tweaks here and there, and still charge more, then no thanks, I dumped my note 8 for a huawei mate 20 pro and the thing is a beast, at least it justified its price with lots of good tech, and even £250 worth of freebies made this phone a super good deal

I doubt Samsung will fall. When Nokia and Motorola and Sony Ericsson fell, they were each attacked by many OEMs, which themselves have fallen too (HTC, Sony, possibly LG too). In markets like Europe and North America, the market is simply a Samsung/Apple duopoly, with only Huawei (in Europe) able to catch up. So even if Samsung somehow fall behind Huawei, they will still be at a healthy 2nd, because apart from Apple there is barely any more 'attackers'.

I'm fine with Galaxy S series not being revolutionary every time. But rather are the culmination of every tried and true technology to date. Let the midrangers do the trailblazing. If they fail, they fail. But it will not damage the flagship brand.

For mid & low market : sell as much model with good design. Use similar spec (use snapdragon 660 & above)
Use a lot variety of name
For high end market : sell innovation & keep the price point below apple

10 yrs ago .... only flagship phones didn't suck everything else was laggy .... so naturally your only choice was to buy the best .... and usually that would be a galaxy S and back then most other phones just didn't hold a candle to it. But now hardware has surpassed what the software needs even midrange phones run pretty smooth .... now they'll need a game changer so to speak just to beat out competition.

samsung need to reconsider their phone pricing. they will fall if they continue increasing price of their phone in order to compete with market present offering. Aslo if s10 does not have 3.5mm headphone jack it will fail

There is absolutely no similarity with happened with Nokia. They may lose the leading position but they won't go down like that. It's just the saturation and somehow a normal cycle in this conditions, when phone don't differentiate so much. So, even if Huawei would take the lead, they won't stay there as much as Samsung.

Samsung stop providing top hardeare comparing with competition but kept iPhones prices, and this is where Chinese brands struck heavely, caught up in hardware race and kept prices reasonable, Samsung ignored it and now paying a price. No matter how undisputted you are, ignoring competition is vital mistake. Even Apple paying price, but there is different situation. Apple thought they can charge for their products arms and legs, looks like it does not work either.

if the S10 comes with a notch however small it may be, i won't even consider it in my purchase list. I detest any notches on my screen.
So samsung you better play your cards right.

Samsung is the Apple of Android, charging premium for minor features and upgrades. I bought an S9 right after it was released and two months later it was already old news, compared to Huawei and Xiaomi. And I won't even get into the bad battery life, the fingernail-scratchable display, the extremely slow charging compared to the competition. I surely won't buy another Samsung ever.
