I thought this type of display be the next year's trend.
But hum.. looks like the hole need to be placed in deep and that place is looks deeper than pixel 3 xl.
I prefer oneplus's small cutout (notch) but I don't know which one is better.

But after giving a little thought, I find it makes sense.
If you are playing a game, or watching a video, in landscape, this will be excellent as the hole is no longer in any significant place, well, mostly.
Doing landscape video call would force a rotation in the opposite direction. Perhaps something that can be easily gotten used to.

Why cant they make the screen bezel less on 3 sides. Like Xiaomi Mi Mix is but in other way around. Make the bezel be on the top of the screen with all the needed sensors, speaker and selfie cam in it.
Makes no sense to have a large bezel on bottom if the area on top of the screen is useless cause of the notch. As the notch point is to have selfie camera in there.
Or is there a reason that screen connection must be on the bottom side of the phone or something ?

Bigger than expected. Hopefully for the S line they'll make it smaller and remove the chin. Then it'll look nice.

I am hating this hole as much as anyone else, and still believe that in present scenario, the waterdrop notch is probably the best way to go.
But I also believe that Samsung, unlike others, will handle this properly, if they go with it. I am sure they are not like Google, who would make something that ugly without giving any option to camouflage it in some way, without affecting usability and looks.

notches didn't help when the market experienced a slump, or maybe it did, just not what these out of touch phone manufacturers expected

Why does it still have a bottom bezel.. the iPhone doesn’t and Samsung made it for them... I only assume it exspensive to make , but if they want to dominate the mid range market.. they need to pull out the strings and make less profit on them...
