I think imate is serious this time about the release. They have completely revamped their website and two additional ultimate sets are also being released, the 6150 and 8150. Check it out at www.imate.com.

I've stopped drooling over i-Mate phones that exisit only on paper. I was willing to buy one despite dubious support services, but now I'm scared proper!

The 9502 reminds me of the Sidekick 3/LX. I like the features but then again those are the same as the HTC Kaiser / TYTN2; but it would probably cost more.

As far as i'm aware WM can only display 64k colors so why do they keep advertising their devices capable of 262k? I'm pretty sure when their Ultimate range was 1st announced it was claimed the screens were VGA capable of displaying 262k colors.

I really the form factor of the 9502 and some of its specs too like the VGA screen.

the features are very good, 8502 looks like blackberry pearl a bit and 9502 looks a lot like sony ux50/ux1xn umpc's. still, if the prices are good, then they have a good chance of sales

The 8502 keypad/softkeys arrangement has gotta be the ugliest I've seen yet.

PS: They really went overboard with the 8502. Navi-joystick, scroll wheel AND stylus.

Another brick from imate lol. I had the Jasjar and I know how that feels in a pocket :P. However, the VGa screen is great and the 9502 actually looks decent, if a bit sidekickish.
I think they will actually release these, the previous ultimate line was gawdy and stayed work in progress long enough to become obsolete. Notice this one is black as opposed to offwhite, same as the recently released VGA JAMA. Any idea who is manufacturing these sets?

Note that the first Ultimate product was introduced in February and still not in production, what exactly is the point for more paper-launch? Are we EVER going to see any I-mate Ultimate products in real-life?
