Lou, 28 Nov 2018What carrier did you have"technically" it's Straight Talk, although I use the at&t sim which has tracphone on the card.
It uses the at&t bands. I even took the phone and swapped out the sim to my Mate 9, when I had no bars or 1 bar on the Essential, and the Mate had a much stronger signal.
From what I've noticed on XDA, it may have suffered the same issue the iPhone did, with the "antenna gate" issue when they went to the metal case.

    Love mine overall.

No signal issues on my carrier, 7 plus hrs of sot, and is a joy to hold and use still.

My son just bought a couple more, for gifts etc. Hard to stay mad at this phone for any reason shy of using on T-Mobile.

Their just want to sell off left old stocks.

Loved the phone, but, I had issues with the signal strength (lack of). Not sure if it was because of the USA model I have, but places my Huawei Mate9 had a data signal, I had "no data" with the Essential. I would have a phone signal, but not even 3G on the data side. The phone is FAST as lightning, with the pure android without the garbage, and gets the patch updates usually on the 1st of the month. But, there are places that I couldn't get a signal, and apparently it's a known issue.
So, it's relegated to my "backup" phone again.

Would've gotten this if it was available in my country. Got the Mate 10 Pro instead.

Man, hopefully they get to make another one. They had such an amazing build and clean software. All they needed was to change a few things

$224. Don't need the added accessories.

                  August 20, 2018 was a great day.

5.71" is considered a small screen these days? Yebus.

Over all a good phone even with a small screen. Hacked gcam works well and they have updates for 9 every month. It's also vanilla Android with no bloat
